The car looks amazing. The alloy wheels look just right, are these an Audi option?

These are Japan Racing (JR18) - popular with the drifter crowd but it felt like the right sort of thing to give the car something special but not too "race" inspired.
Another year another MOT passed, the old girl is doing great. And I finally had the time to fine tune the window alignment and fix a pesky leak on the passenger side.
In other thoughts I'm going through lighting at the moment and the LED tail/brake combo was causing me some head scratching, brakes are fine passing autocheck, but tail lights always fail, out of curiosity I've been digging into how the autocheck J124 module works (the white module in the boot) and how to fox it. The short answer is earth KB for brakes, and KS for tail lights and you won't see the respective warning. In my case I only earthed KS, why kill a check which is working?
It seems that the module runs a sort of bridge circuit (maybe a wheatstone bridge? but the processing seems to be handled in some ICs on the board) where an imbalance outputs a voltage on the K pins. Interestingly my regular filament bulbs already outputted 7V, and changing to LEDs went to 10V which was enough to trigger autocheck. My thought is my car was already not quite right vs spec but there is enough margin in the check to tolerate part/part differences etc. Curious.

Your older pics arent working for some reason? Do you have any photos of the porting/polishing? I've a 2.6v6 im about to do timing belt/water pump on and i've head gaskets there so toying with lookiing into oversized valves and porting. I've already carried out the injector port match, not sure it made any real performance difference, but it stopped most of the popping and bangs on overrun, so its not wasting as much fuel!
The head workshop and inlet manifold mods from 12v are a great read. I've the number somewhere of a guy in england who can do the throttle boring mods too. Although the 2.6 doesnt have the two stage inlet like the 2.8, there should still be a power increase.
Time waits for no man. Unless that man is Chuck Norris.

Funny enough I never finished the port/polish job and those heads are still sitting on the shelf. All I really did was improve the surface finish, removing casting marks and taking material out of the valve guide area but didn't really do much wrt the geometry so I would guess it's not worth much. My oversize valves and springs etc. are still sitting in boxes having never been used. I should probably just sell the whole lot on, I doubt I'll ever complete this project (much like the CAKA supercharger I have on my bench which I was going to try to adapt to the V6 manifold....)
The sum of parts on my car has made a pretty big difference, derestricting the whole intake including MAF, throttle body, injector port matching, backbox change adds up to an engine that doesn't feel like it hates me when I ask it to rev, but I don't know if the 2.6 will respond similarlyComment
