Freshen up

Mates 80 started as a 2.6 fwd manual, which he converted to quattro then VR6 with a GTX35R 7280. It runs on e85 using an Autronic SM4 which he has tuned himself. The list goes on!

A huge amount of work has gone into that, what made him go for a VR6?

He contemplated 5 cyl options, but it can be hard and expensive here in Australia for parts, and one more cylinder is always nice.

That's fair if parts are even more of an issue over there too. Sound of a 5 pot is nice though

Nice wrap job on the cab, sweet choice in colour.

Was the body work easy enough to remove without breaking all the little plastic jobbies ?

Yeah not to bad, the rubbers strips asking the bottom are worst with perished ends etc. Door trims just unbolt from the back but have plastic threads, so can snap. The rear quarter trims just pull off.

Got the wheels back today from the sandblasters. Lips off to be polished and then paint the centers this weekend. Reusing the bolts and are now fully polished.

This is one stunning looking cab How did you manage to wrap things under bonnet, or just left it as is?

Just wrapped around bonnet edges and down wing edge. It gets very tricky!
