I have finally decided to part with my beautiful genuine RS2 in RS Peal Blue Nogaro with matching Alcantara trim on the black leather seats. This car was first registered in October 1994 and has a good recorded history in the past decade. It should be well known to Forum members. The car has had 5 owners including myself. It was originally with its first owner in Ireland for 8 years, then two years each with a stockbroker in London and a couple in the West Country before being acquired by a Forum extremist in 2006. He spent 8 years refurbishing, improving and refining the vehicle, making it what it is today. I have cared for it for the past 3 years or so, maintaining its fantastic performance and restoring some cosmetic aspects. The vehicle appears stock to all but the most discerning eye. Improvements have been made to engine, suspension, brakes and exhaust using OEM or Porsche parts where available or bespoke manufacture. Current mileage is 122,200 and in recent years has only been used in dry weather where possible, covering around 1000 per year. It is kept garaged and covered at all other times.
The highlights of the vehicle are as follows:
...and the car looks stock !!
Last power check gave 410 bhp (415 PS) and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) but I am intending to have that rechecked as I think the torque is actually higher. Top speed is delimited and in excess of 180 mph (so I am told by the previous owner during a brown trouser moment on a German autobahn). 0 - 60 mph in around 4.5s. Driven sensibly the fuel consumption is around 25 - 27 mpg.
The car is also pictured on page 40 of the latest edition of Audi Driver in the ADI event report in the Concours entries. Compare it with the RS2 from the Audi Heritage collection, also pictured on page 29, which has covered only 2000 miles.
The car is a joy to drive on the road - in fact probably better now than when it was new. It is tight, sporty yet compliant. On the track it has great straight line speed and quattro drive keeps it on the track in the corners (even at Brands Hatch). However I have not used it much on the track and always change the oil afterwards. It is almost too good to risk now...
The car will be advertised publicly in about one week for well in excess of £40k given its condition, but I wanted to give Forum members first chance to acquire the vehicle as I would prefer it to go to someone who will cherish it and drive it as I have done. An offer of £39,000 will secure it. But you will not be able to drive it until you have paid in full. Viewing by appointment only near Leatherhead in Surrey. PM me if you are interested, serious and have the money.
Cheers
Don
