    Gauging interest - 1996 S2 Coupe, 130k miles

I'm probably going to look into selling my 1996 S2 coupe in the next few weeks.

She's a 1996 ABY Coupe in Kingfisher/Pelican blue (one of the 'Lifestyle' colours) with beige leather. She has 130k, and alot of service history (I don't think it's all there, but most of it is). She has a Homefroed ecu, stainless exhaust and a Porsche 996 caliper and A8 disc front brake upgrade. The current wheels are 17" OZ Vela with decent brand tyres, and I've got a full set of 17" RH ZW1 wheels with branded tyres.

It's generally a very straight example, it has a little bubbling under one of the rear windows, a little crazing on the rear bumper, a few minor marks on the body and a tiny bit of paint missing on the roof (approx 1cm square) I'm being critical as I prefer an honest sale, but any of the above are in keeping with her age, and she's a good solid car.
The rubber side mouldings (lower) are not in the greatest shape, though I've got a full set of brand new replacements on order. She's quite a rare car as she is a NON sunroof shell.

The interior is generally in good order. When I bought it, the std cream carpet was filthy, so I've replaced this with a very good black carpet, and treated her to new floor mats. She also benefits from a Clarion head unit, which matches the look and illumination of the dash very well. Its got a built in phone kit and USB port. I've fitted the car with a battery cutoff, next to the hand brake as the old battery was duff. I fitted a new battery earlier this year, but the cutoff is still quite useful if it's not used often. the leather is in keeping with its age, though I have a full 'Furniture clinic' colouring and cleaning kit worth over £300 and a full spare grey leather interior (including door and rear cards).
I've also got a pop out rear window kit that needs fitting, the wiring has been put under the carpet, so it needs connecting and then the windows fitting.

She's just failed her MOT, on Front brake discs, rear brake flexes and wiper blades. It had an advisory for the rear discs too. I've got all of the new replacement parts here now, inc the rear discs. She'll have a fresh MOT for her sale.

I'll get some more pictures together when I do a proper advert, and give more detail on the service history etc.

I'm looking for £5000.00 for the car and all of the above - and I will consider a PX or swap with something more economical.

    To summarise, The extras include:

    - Porsche 996 brake upgrade - original calipers also included.
    - RH ZW1 17" wheels - in need of a refurb
    - full spare grey leather interior and matching door and rear cards
    - Furniture clinic restoration and cleaning kit for the std cream leather
    - pop out rear window kit .

That little lot is easily worth £2k second hand, so this is potentially a very cheap way into late ABY coupe ownership.

I will consider selling the car without the above bits, but would prefer it to all go to a good home with the car, so that the car receives the care it deserves.

I will consider offers, but please don't be insuting, you will not get a response.

    OZ Vela wheels as fitted

RH ZW1, fits perfectly over Porsche brakes.
    *

Paint bubbling under rear passenger window. It's tiny. I've been informed by someone in the know that it's a paint reaction - not rust.
    *

The mark on the roof. Again it's tiny, and not noticeable unless you know about it.
    *

Clarion head unit, matches well IMO.
    *

RH ZW1 fitment, nice offset and perfect fitment.
    *
    *

Interior - I'm sure you'll agree it looks much nicer with black carpet and mats!
    *

Some minor paint flaking on side rubbing strips, does not affect paint elsewhere on the doors. This is quite common on Audi coupes and cabrios apparently.
    *

Milltek exhaust - great looking and sounding while being subtle.

This is most of the 2005- present service history:

There's still a few receipts to add when I do my books. There are no receipts prior to 2000' save a few mots. The service book is fully stamped up however, with full Audi main dealer before then.

          Thanks

It's a Milltek sport cat back system. Very subtle, but nice sound.

The cars just come back from its MOT.

While she was in, I had the following work carried out:

            - brand new 323mm x 60mm Audi A8 front discs & brand new stock rear discs
            - brand new rear brake hoses
            - both front wheels balanced
            - aircon service, check and re gas.

The car now feels in rude health, and feels planted right the way upto 70. I'm obviously being careful with the new brakes though. Air con is ice cold.

The lads at the garage were very interested in the car, as it stands out a mile from the modern drab they usually see they commented on how clean the car is underneath.

The only exception is the suspension. While it works fine, it's showing the 10 winters it's had on the car and has had an advisory for corrosion on the springs and very slight play on one strut top.

I'm waiting on a few bits coming through for the car (including the side mouldings) and I will do a proper advert towards the end of the month.

It's going to take a little longer before she's up for sale. Unfortunately, one of my neighbours reversed into my drivers door and has damaged the fibreglass rubbing strip and dented the door. I'm getting it fixed properly at their expense, just seeing what my options are. I'm also still waiting on the Rubber side strips from the forum group buy.

At least I get to use her for a bit longer.

Well, my work situation is changing, and I'm going to need something more economical ASAP.

I've replaced the door with a good second hand one. It needs the lock swapping, and the wiring feeding through. It could also do with a good machine polish. I also now got two good colour coded side rubbing strips. There's a few bits of trim that have been removed, but will go with the car, and have a spare rear bumper now if needed.

Unfortunately I just don't have the time are space to do the work at the moment. I'm also waiting on the last owner to forward me a couple of service receipts. I can't wait any longer, but would pass his details on if you wanted to chase him up. It still comes with a mountain of receipts, and the car runs perfectly.

If someone offers me £4k in the next week I'd take it. That includes all the spares, windows, brand new door rubbers etc. I'd take £3800 without the RH wheels. NO OFFERS, THI IS THE MINIMUM I WILL ACCEPT!!!.

This is surely the cheapest way into a low mileage, '96 ABY coupe. if it doesn't sell quickly, I'll either have to put her into long term storage or break her. This would be a great shame, as she's a fantastic car!

With a little bit of TLC, she has the potential to be one of the best coupes out there. She's a non sunroof car, so would ideally be suited for a track car project or a stunning road car.

Some pictures of the damage, and the new door in place:

As you can see, the damage was only relatively minor, and didn't touch the sill.

                    New door:

You can see a slight colour difference, but I think it's only because it needs a good polish. There are some minor scratches etc on the door, but again nothing that a machine polish won't easily solve.
