Go on you know you want to, you could make back loads from whats not needed. Plus lighter car, better rear suspension

That would be a B3 one, so mchpherson struts all round, same platform as a coupe.

The B4 has the same suspension setup as the S2 avant.

yeah thats the one, had kr cams and valve guides put in it not long after i got it and a adj pulley, i loved that car, full stainless exhaust, quattro on the upholstery and IMO went like stink on motorway, i often look to see can i buy the car back. i think that the b3 one that i had were the very first to have 16v engines and the very last of the b3's so i beleive very very rare, i think there was 4/5 imported to ireland .

my b3 16v quattro was wrote off by a pissy little renault clio, my b4 16 quattro is safe and sound though
                as far as rarity goes, only 5 or 6 b4 16v quattros and 191/192 b3 16v quattros

oh and sean. keep it and turn it into a beast

Thats the one, it came with those wheels and it had one of the original alloys as spare. hated those wheels.

is the engine mounted to the subframe or the chassis ? 99% sure mine was to subframe, hence no 5 pot , buying s2. i still vote keep it if you can stick a 5 pot in there. look how rare they are, and softer life than an s2 also, less wear

Thought that, looked really nice (apart from the wheels as you say). Not that they werent nice wheels, just too modern for the car i thought. wouldve bought it then found some original speedlines for it. Any idea where it went to?

Wow, rarer than a rare thing, is it standard? My first car was a 1.3SR, never should have got rid of it. Only ever see either the 1.4 ones or butchered/chavved up ones for sale now.
