Just something different, probably older and more classic, and most likely with a Alfa Badge on it. (think 1750 GTV etc)

Been thinking about it for a while.

I totalled up £32K spent since I got the car in 2006, ouch!

Pete is going to see if he can stir some interest up for me.

          That's the idea!

Have now advertised the quattro on three sites. Never thought I'd do this, but I think it's time.

Considering it's got a reverse intake, much better than RS2 spec i.e. less than 3,000 rpm

Starts boosting at 3000 rpm and full boost by 3,500 rpm. Wagner exhaust and intake manifolds coupled with a ported head and this turbo mean next to no lag, and lots of usable power.

Don't want to dilute your thread Angus, so you can answer by pm if you want. Did you try measuring for differential pressure across your intake system and intercoolers? Or measure pressure in your exhaust downpipe? Just wondering why your boost pressure seemed capped lower than I would expect after Dimitri said the wastegate was almost completely closed most of the time. I can't believe the turbo is maxed out despite what Dimitri says. On Garretts web site they have sponsored a drift car with this turbo maxed out making 480 whp. Ok American hp, but still likely to be 480 crank hp over here on a realistic dyno... also what turbine housing are you using?

Good luck on the sale. Your build thread is giving me motivation to build my urq...

                    Cheers des

I have the ar.63 houseing, the .82 housing allows a little more top end/ultimate boost etc etc

Also, most of those drift cars are nissan Silvias? I think they always make more power like for like than our engines (the "disco potato" is a popular turboi with them)

I think there is another 10-20bhp to be had from various tweaks. I recently fitted a much larger and less restrictive air filter for example.

Also remember that it flows a tiny bit less than a GT3071R, but it has a lower surge line and coupled with a smaller exhaust wheel, and overall lighter wheel assembly it is quite a lot more responsive and better at low rpm.

Never actually measured diff pressure despite having the gauge.

Head porting by JP and Mapping by Dimitri sorted all of my worries and made it the car it should always have been. The engine is a peach of a thing, flexible yet still revs out.

Angus thanks for the info. I know its a great turbo as even on my stock internal engine it is very driveable and just keeps pulling. Most be a monster in a urq. Im building a 2.5 stroker and am planing on sticking with this turbo so am interested in finding out its true limits.

                        Good luck des
