  • 1995/6 ABY S2 Coupe For Sale

    For sale as titled:

Reason for sale- relocating to South Africa, reluctant sale to say the least.

    What has been done recently:
    1. Full service and belts changed
    2. New fuel lines
    3. New Sach clutch
    4. New tie rod bushes
    5. 4 wheel alignment
    6. 4 new Toyo Proxy tyres
    7. Stainless steel exhaust fitted by PTR exhausts (F1 welding company)
    8. 4 new top mounts
    9. New oil seal on rear diff
    10. New rear diff mount
    11. New oil seal ring for gearbox
    12. 2 month MOT- currently SORN until end Feb.

    The vehicle is standard, 230BHP.
    Mileage is 200K Miles.
    3 owners from new!
    Ming blue
    Tilt and slide sunroof.
    Cream leather interior
    Heated seats.
    6 speed gearbox.
    Aircon.

Bad points: the previous owner had a fender bender in 2009 which required a new f/n/s quarter panel and a new headlight. The insurance has classified the car as cat d. This is a completely straight motor, which suffered a cat d because of its age! Northants Bahnstorm has worked on this car and can confirm it as being a straight and sound car.
Small rust bubbles are appearing on the rear wheel arches- was going to get these done in October, and have bought new rubber door strips for the doors- will be included.

Price is £3K- which is what I have spent on it over the past 18 months alone.
Vehicle is garaged in Milton Keynes (our home garage) and is truly worth considering.

    Thanks for your interest.

    Sean

Heya, have you considered shipping it with you?
There was approx. 43-45 S2's brought into SA in the period manufactured, not many remaining on road today. IIRC, if you're emigrating / returning, you're allowed to bring your car in, as long as its not LHD.
I have a RS2, 1 of 15 (believed) to be remaining on the road today - so they're as rare as hens teeth..My 2 cents

                        Hi Nathid,

My understanding is that there will be a 36% duty on the vehicle.

I'd verify that, doesn't sound correct.
Are you a returning citizen or simply emigrating?
I'll confirm with the company that handles our relocations, assuming you were a returning citizen.
Assuming u were emigrating, the 36%, would still put you way ahead of the pack from a value perspective down here. I recently saw a silver one with similar mileage, year etc selling for R120k (today's ROE of R16: 1GBP)

Sound advice- Thanks. I am torn between bring it home with me or replacing it next year with a local SA one (providing I found one).

FYI- After 10 years we are returning to the north coast of KZN- Whoop Whoop!

Awesome news - as a returning citizen, I believe there are mechanisms.
North KZN? Cool...Will confirm on my end and revert back to u.
