I think Martin has an ECU with PRJ stage chips in it for sale, you could always ask for a trial
    Saw his for sale thread.
I'm thinking I'll have more urgent things to spend money on in the near future, but..... I'll see how funds go!

    Normal service stuff as required.
    Check for any fault codes
Boost leak test (pressure test intake)

A boost gauge is handy for checking it is boosting as it should.

If you want to pop over for a chat/look over just let me know, I have bungs to leak test it and a compressor, VAG COM etc. I dont have many spare parts now, but still the odd bit.

What are your plans? Nicely maintained stock? OEM+ or power mad?

A stage 1 chipset will get you 280bhp plug and play which will transform the car, loads more low end and mid range torque, not just high rpm BHP.

good hands is little solace John, I'm counting down the days until I own something with an interesting engine again!

Perhaps next I'll go for a straight six, unless I find some way of owning an inline five again

Just to say, thank you Jack. Don't despair......the S2 is in good hands.
Car has a few issues that need attending to, hopefully I should be able to work some magic!!
Car drove well up the road.......now washed and hoovered.
