I think the title is trying to use a bit of reverse psychology (and not very successfully). As for this line:- "I seem to have had more than my share of Know all, d***head anoraks wanting to point out any tiny ‘fault’ if this is you stay away I have no time for you." I sympathise to a degree, but its to be expected. Happens to us all.
I'm the new owner, been after one for a while. Car seems great, slight issue with brakes and seems to be running cold but if the accuracy of the fuel gauge is anything to go by could just be the instrument, will be looking through the technical pages! Andy, understand you looked the car over just before I picked it up, if you have any advice for an S2 novice then please PM. Cheers
If the fuel gauge and temp guage are both reading low then it could just be corrosion on the pins or bolt through the voltage reg on the back of the cluster.
My 3B did this, eventually I took the voltage reg off, it unplugs when you remove the bolt, cleaned the pins, new washer and it's been fine ever since (5 years ago?)
