That's fair... Had 3 offers of £25k before I even posted it online and I agree at that price car will be sold very quickly. But am hoping for a little more than that but let's see what happens... Thanks

Hi guys i didnt want to get in a "fued" but looks like im in one.
Im not going to have this guy insult my or the forums intelligence.
Here is a list i drew up in just 15mins of seeing this car.

      RS2 issues I made a note of:

      Rear panels recently re sprayed

      Rear bumper badly cracked

Front bumper also bad damaged underneath.

Oil leak in several areas in engine bay bottom end area steering pump area etc

Rear passenger door paint coming off

      Engine Rubber seals loose

      Windscreen sills bubbling

      Front wheel arches have scuffs

Exhaust not sitting properly and rusting

      Battery too small for car

Drivers seat leather colour coming off

Steering wheel leather in bad condition

Rust on both sides of windscreen sills

      Half front nearside fog missing/broken

      Front calipers need refurb

Squeeking noise on start knackered pumps.

      Bonnet seals falling apart.

That was in 15mins. If i had an hour the list would b doubled,
And i didnt even take it for a drive!!

The whole car needs a respay, a proper one.
It needs a massive service and full check.
I would love to take it dialynx and get the check up bill!!
Its never been stored indoors and had dog hairs allover it.
He wasted my time i was expecting a mint example for top money.
Its over priced by miles which is cleverly done so when he knocks off £10k who wouldnt buy it.

I think imo he paid around £15k, and thats what its worth in its current condition.
I made him a great offer of £22k he should have taken it!
Im sorry mate but you r not an enthusiast and yes u r a trader!!

Glws, i am sorry for the honest buyers.

Theres nothing wrong in selling cars, being a trader or making a living.
I have sold plenty of cars. But with an honest description and a realistic
Price reflecting on the condition of the car.

Nothing wrong in being an honest trader!!!

Also just for your safety do not just top up the rs2 with oil.
Its was blatently obvious was well over the dipstick mark and
Due to that the car was coming out with black smoke!!

I recommend u get it serviced properly and dont drive it like that
Before u mess a great car up.

Thank you for your reply I will look into the above issues and either sort or price accordingly. I hadn't noticed any of the above as car was listed the day after I brought it home.
I will also check oil related issues and contact garage.
I am not an expert and never claim to be and I brought a car that I have wanted for years... Thank for your feedback

As an aside, as most Rs2s are privately owned, when a dealer does have one, do they just buy a warranty to cover any issues?

Obviously when buying from a private vendor, whether it £200, £2000, or £22,000 it's sold as seen.
From a dealer/trader, there is obviously some comeback? That therefore potentially creates problems where a car may have issues with mileage in excess of 100k and being 25 years old?

Funny, as older classics no one is really bothered what mileage, service history, and category status it may have if been written off. That's more prevalent for cars manafactured from late 80s onwards.

Sorry for digression. As you were....

That is quite a list from Whoosh.......i havent seen the car so cant comment either way on its condition, but i can only reiterate, for top money it really should be in top condition (and that goes for any marque ) All i know here is that it is certainly priced at TOP money.

If that the the state of the obvious bits the less obvious bits will be as bad if not worse.
We all know what it will cost to make it "mint" and it's 5 figures.

Is it advertised on here and do you have superb photos? If you are and do then i'm sure you'll be onto a winner.

very possibly so in the current climate, to me (and it almost pains me to say so as they are rapidly leaving my comfort zone ..) its certainly a more realistic price than some.

Price drop, I think this is likely to find a buyer soon. Nice colour, notwithstanding all previous comments.

£7k drop ? now £27k or make offer....i thought the car already had bids of £25K ? ....Oh well, to me its just another poor RS2 with 'stories' attached. Seems so hard to find a totally genuine car and seller combined these days.
