Pricewise, again it will go for what someone thinks it's worth, you can't help the fact that
someone bought for £8k and later sells it for a lot more. S2s have undoubtedly risen in price (rightly so) but not had a definitive marker for higher prices...
There was the lovely green coupe that had 100k +, but had been rebuilt and was rs2ed..~£12k, we had the green s2/Rs2 avant now in Scotland- mega low low miles, but cat c -that was circa £10k... and now this coupe on eBay.. I suspect Steve H could be bob on with mid teens.
No difference to say buying an Rs2 a year ago for £10-£12k,which are now realistically £25k +
Sometimes you just get lucky with timing and price rises... although most here have been owners for many years....
I like the seats too. Black is so old hat, most of you will understand eventually.
As for price..........smells very speculative and the painted lowers are horrid.
Agree on all counts.
Painted lowers indeed are horrid and stops in being totally original.
Speculative - well I don't think it's been for sale in the past year( stand to be corrected)
So with really low miles, its worth a punt to see what it could be worth.
Wasn't there a mint standard red coupe somewhere up north that was ~£15k?
The debate of S2 values continues yet again as it crops up every now again!! As mentioned by a few this S2 Coupe is a stunning looking car has nice alloys a neat porsche brake upgrade the seats aren't my cup of tea but everyone is different and some people already commenting. Engine bay immaculate painting the lower door trims wasn't a great idea but easily sorted and ONLY 69k miles which is nothing so yeah he might have bought the car cheaper but why not £19k eh? We should be praising this guy for having the balls to go for top dollar its his pride and joy and you never know someone might come along and say hey I've got 16k in my pocket!?! - (just my opinion lol)
I know I'm in the minority - and certainly not good if you want originality, but I much prefer painted plastics.
The original plastic doesn't show so badly on a dark car like this, but for my own car (where originality is long since passed as a priority...) paint, paint, paint...
I really don't like the seats... 3 reasons.
Colour
Style
Not heated
ABY seats are not supportive at all and look busy. 3B seats are less fussy and, due to the fewer panel design, you sit in them slightly more - you really sit on ABY ones...
Oh, did I say, I like colour coded bumpers and side trims?
If he gets close to 19k I'll be happy... and those that need examples for insurance claims have a great example...
Honda CBR 1100XX Blackbird Turbo....undergoing major changes.....
S2 Coupe... bit easier off the line...
'03 ZX12-R daily hack.... lots of nice bolt ons...
Remember the car well when it was discussed back in April ish defo 2014 at £5,500.
So 2 1/2 years later........... now £19,000, that's some profit but do like the car very
much. she looks a beauty for many reasons one of them being Ming Blue pearl.
I am biased!

IMO, if prices have risen, fair enough. But I think what generally gets to people is when someone buys a car 1 week, then a week, or days later advertise the same car for hell of a lot more... sellers prerogative and all that.
I hope he gets as much as poss for it
Best of luck to him, but there have been a couple on Ebay recently, one estate and one coupe that made ~5K each. If you took either of those and spent half the difference between that and 19K, you could have a much better car, irrespective of mileage. While it looks really good, the only usp's are the mileage and modified brakes, so where is the 19K, other than for appearances ?...
