2.5TDI Coupe

Hi Guys,

I have been thinking. Has anyone put the 2.5tdi or 3.0tdi in a coupe.

If not what do you think the logistics of this are. Ball ache or relativley simple.

I love the coupe but with things the way they are pressing at the moment saving some money on fuel would be a bit of a bonus at the moment esp as I am only returning approx 22mpg (if not less as I only get about 290mls out of a tank).

Just a thought for the future (and then I have an engine to put in the shorty!!!!!!)

Thoughts on this guys please. I know the diesel engine is quite good but what do you reckon to it in the coupe??????? (would be lighter than in the A4/A6)

From what I can remember there is the 155BHP version (from the 2 wheel drive) and the 180BHP version from the Quattro. Guess which one I would go for.

Have you included cost of the engine and conversion labour in your fuel savings calculations ?

Not done anything like that but as I will be using the 20v turbo engine in the shorty I have saved money there! Only thinking out aloud again at the moment

the 2,5 tdi,5syl will fit right in,if the car have 5 syl org....

I don't think it's worth it (V6). You will need loads of work, and stuff to make that work. It's completely different animal. Max what you can put without blood splitting is 2.5TDI from C4 chasis.

I've seen 1.9 tdi (chipped) converted typ85 coupe quattro. Going much better, than NA, however petrol turbo is the right engine for that car

its audi engine,(fx a6) but some volvos have the 2,5 audi in too... the v6 have the same boltpattern to the tranny,but im not shure about the enginemount in the car(the chassimount) AND the v6 will use some more fuel.....
have a vw32b quantum 87,the car will have a 2,5tdi 2001 in too,later this year,but this is a audiengine from a volvo 850

Yes, mine for one.... wouldn't touch the 2.5 V6 TDI (180) with somebody elses bargepole....
just use the 5 pot diesel, I reckon....

a "shadowmaker" from finland have over 300hp on a 2,5tdi( 5pot).... and have done more tha 100000km with the engine.......
have the car 5 or v6 petrol or diesel.... ALL engines from audi fit in
the v8 fit right in the vw 32b chassi too....!!

Please do not do it. Buy some 80with 1Z engine and drive. I have spen almoast a year now colecting the parts, bits and pieces to make the car alive again. It should be treated as ak crime if you put a diesel in this kind of car. My was S2 3B BTW. I bag you not to do it.
