They are all 320 GBP to include postage to Uk, VAT, customs duties and clearence charges.

I was not aware the Toms slipped, could it be the heatwave?

It slipped, I think, because i tried a 1/4 mile start and wasnt aggressive enough releasing the clutch! Plus i had Doug and Mihnea in the car too.

But even so aelred, could you price me up a different friction disc? Something with extra bite maybe.

I recieved an email from Clutchnet today and they recommended the Racing 6 Button "E-Z LOCK PRO" â„¢ Sprung Hub for torque above 400lb/ft (550NM) or 500BHp. They say it is the same price as fiber-carbon.

Obviously I'm not at that torque/power level at the moment but I would rather have plenty of margin for increase in case the bug bites me again. Unlike Tom swapping clutches is not high on my leisure activites list.

If the prices are all the same what is the best compromise of power handling vs life expectancy? I'm not bothered about it lasting for the next 100,000 miles but I don't want to be changing it every service (like I do with top mounts).

Well on the first order I was informed by Clutchnet that the carbon fibre friction material was good for 50-70K and will handle up to 500BHP with similar torque.
The copper synther one was good for 10-50K and it will handle up to 700BHP and similar torque,
The longegivity of the friction materials is related to the abuse given and on the driving style, so this figures are only estmates.

                      To Greg

I am awaiting reply from Clutchnet in respect of the ABY, ADU and RS4.
