    Feeler for GB, Supertech valves

Guys i know this will not appeal to every one but i have been incontact with a company that can supply these valves at already a very good price and they may well flex alittle more if i can get a few more sets on the order

Please have a look around the web Site

And here's the pdf file, page 10

Supertech Performance offers high quality racing components, valves, pistons, spring and valve train engine components for the automotive industry. We are the leading manufacturer for high performance valves, pistons, springs and valve train engine components.

Which valves are you thinking of going for (and why)? Are you looking for lightweight for high revving or long lasting etc?

Also, what is the price range for a set and the saving if we get 10 folks?

          Cheers n

            Si,

            VWIVN-1034 - Intake £8.60
            VWEVN-1034 - Exhaust £8.50

These prices are before a GB price.

The valves i will be using will be of standard size.
The long life span is a great pull and they weigh a bit less.

The Nitrided valves will have a surface hardness almost 2-3 times stronger than cromed.

Stock thickness of the stems are 8mm, but these are 7mm (requiring new guides). Undercut to 6.5mm in the area that does not touch the valve guide. Much lighter than stock too. Saves a lot more weight than TI retainers. In combination with lightweight lifters, this setup is good for 8K on the 8v Golf, thus avoiding stiffer valve springs (stiffer springs sap power at all rpms).

Seems like a good price. Which core material are you going for? Is it worth going for titanium?

                      Cheers n

As far as i can see, the valves are made for a hi quality alloy and chrome nitride coated.

You can go Ti to reduce the valve train weight and increase the spring life, but titanium valves wear or gall on the valve seats.

I have Ti retainers and springs though

Thought you was trying to keep the costs down, just cos its shiny and new doesn't mean you have to buy it, though it helps.

                          Could be interested myself.
