Mild steel exhaust manifolds can be treated by painting them or aluminium spraying. The spraying leaves a slightly rough coating but it lasts!

There are several companies who paint them with very durable coatings which do not dissapate heat, the heat passes down the exhaust pipe which helps efficiency and reduces underbonnet temperature.

Don't resist! Get one along with us and let's drive the price down even further after we hit the 10 participants route. Then you can sell your RS2 EM to pay for the tube header.

Nooooooooo - I want to see how much power we can get out of the RS2 EM. I need to change a few other things to take advantage of a tubular manifold - like inlet manifold, intercooler, crossmember, turbo hotside and downpipe. I want to get the car runnning before I change more bits - although I am thinking about it - I will think about it over the weekend.

I'll take your second hand RS2 EM off you as Mihnea has seen good gains when using it with the K24. I need to hold out longer before buying a monster Turbo....

What gains does the RS2 EM give you on a K24? More low down torque?

Higher top end I believe. Over 300bhp apparently and even more with a flowed head. No reason why it won't be close, if not quicker than a stock RS2. Not sure about torque gains but the standard S2 manifold is extremely limiting and the turbo can't work effectively. After the 'Mihnea custom remap' on my car I should have more torque coming on sooner than the stock RS2. Torque tails off at higher revs hence the lower peak power. The RS2 EM and flowed head fill in some of this deficit at higher flows without over stressing the turbo due to the increased Volumetric Efficiency od the engine.

So, wanna sell it mate? I still have that Mstation to barter with..LOL!
