Seriously mate 40 foot is gigantic lol I could empty my workshop into one for example and I am sure you will agree thats a LOT of stuff lol

We get them sent over from China full of furniture and you will need a LOT of parts to fill one and obviously a lot of people at the other end requiring them.

Its a great price but I agree with Dest I would get a price on a 20 foot one as well as you can fit a huge amount in one of those.

Someone on the British end would have to co-ordinate the packing of the container. I am sure that pieces would be coming in from all parts of Europe to be packed in the container. The items would have to be itemized, and list made of all the places the items would have to be sent to once the container got to the states. Insurance would need to be taken out on all the items in the container, and the worth of all the individual bundles would have to be computed. And then purchase the insurance.

Whoever received the container in the states would have to figure a way to get the container to a particular location, so it could be unloaded and the items stored and checked for damage. If there was any damage, insurance claims would have to be submitted, by the person/persons from the shipping end. The person/persons receiving the container, would have to in turn, get shipping quotes for all the items to be shipped to various people in the states and Canada. Not an easy task. And then do the shipping.

      Just something to think about.

Anyone ever read 'Cola Cowboys' ?

The red tape involving such a project is a big, big job on the Brit side to itemize each and every article in the container and not too much of a job on the US side IF, and only IF, customs don't want to itemize the contents with the form. One item wrong or missing from the form could potentially jam the container in customs for a while.

Plus customs are always entitled to opening carefully packaged items and though they are supposed to do so professionnally, they are known to use various "tools" which are really weapons so goods could be damaged as well.

      Food for thought.

            I'm very interested:
... if the price is right.
... all the parts on my list will be acquired.
... when it will take place?

Will keep an eye on this thread.

I would be happy to add some parts to the container if there is anything someone stateside requires.

I am in Michigan, USA; willing to help coordinate on this side of the pond.

I would like a set of S6 plus bumpers.

I'd like to throw a few parts in there. But I need some help tracking down a set(front and rear) of '92-'94 S4 bumpers with brackets. I may have other parts I will add shortly

I have contacted several companies the issue at the moment is

a: Where do we store the container before shipping
b: Where do we get the container shipped to
c: There is some issues with customs with what can and can't be imported into US
d: Who is going to be financally responsable for the whole operation.

It's a bit of a logistics nightmare at the min. but I will keep at at.
