I have 2 speed bumps at my office that i drive over every day, i was worried as well, my KWs out perform my Bilstiends and H&R springs on those speed bumps by a long shot, the Bilstiens seemed to "rebound" more and for longer periods, these dont. much more comfortable, and it my favorite upgrade since i put a turbo on the car!

Yes, you can't go by the chassis number because cars have had work on them down the years.

Rule of thumb is as follows

      3B Coupe = 12m
      ABY Coupe / Avant = 14mm
      ADU RS2 = 14mm

However the cross over year of 93 for 3B to ABY and Avant production some cars got 12mm

It's not worth the risk CHECK prior to ordering.

It's not like you have to take the bolt out it's that big you can measure it on the car

Thanks for this info Jamo, due to not actually having an S2 myself I wouldn't know the answer. Obviously at some stage I will get asked this question and the best way to know is for the owner to check their own nuts. Pardon the expression...

        Thanks again Jamo!

yep it's not worth the risk, I bought replacement struts of a 94 car and they ended up being 12mm struts which I had to drill out for my old 95 Coupe

Here's the link to KW's site, but I don't think it actually says whether they are full stainless or not:

That link says "Coilover strut housing in galvanized steel construction

He said $1200 which works out cheaper than KW's trade price. I'm confused too!
