Sla what was the clutch for...ABY or 3B? What spec did you go for? and what do you think of it on the car? An idea of cost would be cool too...sorry for all the questions, just getting nowhere fast at the moment!

Just got off the phone from clutchnet in the US. Basically i need to make a minimum order of 10 friction plates, these would be a copper, 6 puck paddle clutch, which would be OK for everyday use. They ARE slightly harser on the flywheel, but for big torque cars, this is the only way to get them to work.

Price for one friction plate is gonna be about $175 plus shipping/customs charges. I wont know what this will be until they arrive.

These plates WILL require a modified cover plate, and i will get a price on these ASAP. Christmas has kind of got in the way!

I need definate commitment on these units, at the moment these will be for 3B cars only. An ABY buy will happen later on if this proves to be succesful

I will take one - but I need a 3b cover plate - and a lightened 3b flywheel to go with it.

with a normal homefry upgrade and little chance of any significant power gains in the next year or so, I might as well just get the normal Sachs 3b clutch kit i guess - or would there be any major benefits in going down this route?

It might be cheaper - you can get more 6k launches out of it!

Count me in for one of these babies Tom I'll have more if you don't meet the minimum of 10 units.

Doug, I may know of a 'spare' 3B flywheel if you're looking for one?

I am still undecided whether to get a standard 3b flywheel and lighten it - or get an ali one form the Dutch dudes.

If you can get me a flywheel and coverplate - I will take it - then give it to Tom to get modded for these clutches - so we can get one on a car asap.

The Sachs unit costs about £220 IIRC. Upgrading you own pressure plate and buying a Clutchnet friction plate would work out cheaper The only question is longevity of the friction plate and flywheel. Perhaps someone who is already using a paddle clutch could provide some info on their experience?

so without being a thicko are you saying this will be operated on a paddle - e.g. hand clutch?

                              Sla,

do you still have the order number or reference that came with your clutch, this might make it easier for Tom to arrange things if Clutchnet keep good records.

                              Cheers,
