So - would it be worthwhile for these to be finished off by a trusted contact on the forum - for the UK purchasers anyway. I for one don't have anyone local with machine equipment that I would trust enough for the bespoke finishing.

So hows about a ball park price (per manny) to have all the right nipples etc, any machining, deflashing and powder coating for a right sexy looking IM ?

Oh and what about a nice Audi or 4-ring logo on the thing. I hate to say it, but the physical appearance of this part lacks some appeal - wondered if some arty types could mock up some ideas. I'm sure we could find a CNC machinist willing to quote for the work ! Hows about a 'Powered by S2 Forum' logo (LOL) ?

Meant to add - Does anyone have any idea of the pipework necessary to get from stock intercooler onto the TB with this bad boy... I'd be happy to get quotes from Samco for that if anyone has some guidelines or can share what hose combinations they might have used.

Do we have one sample part that can be used to size this up ?

            Email from Carsten:

            Hello Jon,

Throttle Body Cable should be used from V6 B4, 5Cyl. Non Turbo or Custom Made.
Some Grinding needs to be done to clear the Water rail underneath, but that’s a 5-10 min Job with a regular Grinder. No Mill or so needed.
Also u need to weld the ISV Connector on it, that’s the “biggest” Job that have to be done.
With every Intake comes 3 already drilled and bolt on Vacuum/boos nipples.
I know that’s a little bit work. But that’s why other Tuners offer this Intake Ready to Bolt on for 900 Euro and more. I hope u will understand this.

            Thanks for your Time

            best Regards/ mit freundlichen Grüssen

              Good idea Paul

A quality finish with all fixings and a factory look logo would be the business... it's worth a bit extra just to remove the hassle of component gathering prior to fixing - nevermind the improved quality 'factory' appearance.

              cool...

Agreed, I would consider taking one if it came ready to bolt up, but I cannot be doing with the hassle of all the extra sourcing/machining etc.

If only we had a trusted forum based personage who ran an Audi based service/tuning parts company to give us a quote to supply finished IM's...if only such a person existed

                Cheers n

I cant see how the manifold will ever be a straight bolt in job, what with the intercooler piping and crossmember having to be altered.

Who's the contact about Machining the more the merrier i say.

One thing on the powder coating idea is that should maybe an individual option - I for one would be annoyed if I couldn't get the same colour finish on my cam cover.

Jamo / Jon - can I leave you guys to get a couple of quotes for the finishing work in the UK from some trusted sources ? It should be itemised so that the fluffy items like the logo and powder coat are obvious extras... Lets focus on the mandatory things first.

Oh and I'd forgot that new throttle cables will be needed all round - what else ?

I'm thinking about extension cables for the IAT and ISV for starters...

If you want to stick with the stock x-member and i/c your gonna have to remove quite a big lump out of the x-member.

Thinking back to one of Marks old setups...
