The lowest i got was with Elephant.com at £510 which i thought was not bad for being 21 with 5 years no claims. My renewal quote with Admiral was over £700.

No banter or offence intended but I think you are classed as a "repsonsible" member of society now!

Seeing as you run the valver as a daily driver, have you looked into Hagerty classic car insurance?
A friend of mine has recently bought a Chimeara and pay £300/year to insure it (he's 24) as he has a POS citroen van that he uses everyday.
He needed no NCB (was then able to use all 5 years that he did have on his van, saving him yet more).

I think the requirement is to have a second car and it be garaged and cover no more than 6K/year (from what I can remember him telling me) which applies to you.

I'm with elephant and paid £470 last year but this year I hope to be paying even less due to me becoming a big 25 year old.

if you have 5 years no claims that means you must have started to drive at 16?

I have 3 and being 21 with a clean slate and having owned multiple fast cars and living in the sticks. Mines over 1300 with ALL mods decleared but i did take it out when i was 20?

Just wondering how you got yours so low?

Some insurance compnaies give you two years NCB for the price of one. You pay through the **** fr it initially but if you're under 20 then you'll reap the benefits in a few years time.

Don't know about agreed value but they are very much a "phone up and have a chat" company rather than an online quote sort of company.
Protect your classic vehicles with classic car insurance from Hagerty - the UK's leading classic car insurance provider. Get a quote today!

This is their website but like I say, I'm only going on word of mouth here. They may turn out to be just like every other insurance company.

Adrian Flux. £540 with 7 years NCB and all mods declared and insured on a like for like basis. Not an agreed value policy though. Not too bad for 24 and not with Elephant so a little happier.

I have 5 years because i went for a 10 month accelerated bonus sceheme a while back and will be 22 in march and where i live it is quite low risk plus i have my father listed as a driver and being over 25 it seems to bring down the price for some reason. And it always helps to haggle with insurers.

And there's also Admiral 'Multicar'. Not used it myself but it could be worth enquiring.

I'm with Hefalump at the mo. Decent quote, though I can't remember the exact fiqure at the mo. But any mods will cost a bit more on the policy, but it seems they aren't replaced on a like-for-like basis in the event of a claim.

I'm with Adrian Flux too, 'like for like' mods and I'm having a real problem with that. Aparrently my mods have no (ie ZERO) value... my advice would be go agreed value when you renew! In fairness I've been dealing with the underwriter direct and 'Flux have offered to assist with my claim if need be, which may be an idea seeing as they would want to protect their reputation as a modified car broker...

23, 1yr NCB, clean slate, £1200, modded to the hilt

Dreading the cost without the NCB and an accident on my record

Well Adrian Flux managed to beat my best quote by £10 today! I am going to renew with them and "only" pay £250....

Just got to get the car back on the road now... Wishbone bushes, Ball Joints, CAT refit, Tyres, MOT and Tax....

Hmmmm, all that cleaning/polishing must be stressing out those components, Imagine what else you'd have to replace if you drove it every day
