    1990 CQ electrical problems

Two electrical issues on my ‘90 coupe.

the power seat memory buttons cause a click from under seats but nothing moves regardless of which button I activate. The controls on the seat do nothing on both sides.. Thoughts?

the tach and clock display are intermittent. I am not good at picking out circuit cracks. A good slap fixes the issue, for now. Any tips on where to solder here?

The classic source of problems inside instrument clusters is where Audi have used long pins passing through sliding contacts to join circuit boards. First thing to try is separating the circuit boards and cleaning the pins and contacts with contact cleaner and reassembling.

While you're there check the long pins don't wobble in the board, I've had to re-flow the solder joints on a few of these.
