'91 Audi Coupe 7A Rear of Engine Oil Leak

I have a 1991 Audi coupe with the 7A engine that has 340,000 miles. The car has developed a nasty oil leak at the rear of the engine and I cant tell where it is from. It is not the valve cover gasket.

The car loses 1 quart oil every 700-800 miles with a small pool forming at the rear of the engine. It is not power steering fluid.

Does anyone have any ideas on what this engine oil leak may be?

Is there a complete seal/gasket kit for the 7A engine so that when I am in there I have everything I may need?

    Thank you!

Where is it dripping from underneath?
Could be sump gasket, rear main oil seal or somewhere else and tracking back.

I think it’s the rear main oil seal. What do I have to remove and take apart to gain access to the rear main oil seal?

The steering rack is leaking a little and the clutch is original. Should I change the rack and clutch while I am there?

        This site is great!!

        Thank you everyone!

          Is it a Quattro?
Gearbox out job to do rear main seal. Easier if its not a Quattro. Do the clutch at the same time for sure. At the same time do the gearbox shaft seal and fit a new genuine slave for the clutch.
