    Check your dipsticks for cracking

I had a good look at mine and found that the lower part (the bit that sits in the sump where the min and max marks are) had two cracks in it runnning all the way round.

If this had broken off i would of had an engine rebuild on my hands, so check yours now before its too late !

ABY part number is - 034 115 611 F and it costs just under a fiver too!

Replaced mine last year when the pull loop snapped off...

            Ck.
Shocked, exhausted, hosed, bushed, dumped, chipped, mounted, filtered, gauged, packed, intermittantly wiped and braked. I mean broken. Now, about the car...

No risk of engine damage even if the dipstick breaks.

no probs, yeah just clips on, can be a bit tight squeezing it on with the pas pipe running along side but not too difficult. My old one just crumbled off when i tried to remove it so best to grab the bottom of the old on where it meets the rigitd tube and try to pull it straight up...

I like to stop the bottom of my dipstick cracking by keeping it nicely basted in engine oil!

Bit new fangled I know, but you never know, it might just catch on!

Had to replace the plastic top part of the dipstick tube, easy to do, just clips on.
