are you seeing flames from the w/gate pipe as u used to be able to see underneath the rally q's?

I've never seen it, but it must be possible due to the heat of the WG pipe. There shouldn't be much excess fuel getting to that place however - unless the fuel shutoff on overrun is somehow defeated or programmed out.Paul Nugent

Mark,
I'm thinking of going this route with mine. My only worry is, how loud is it? I like the right kind of loud but if its annoyingly loud I would rather not do it. Thanks, oh for this thread, here is a picture of my past URS4 with front mount intercooler and US bumpers cut to fit. Only thing I had to move was the horn and I was able to just bend them out of the way using the same bracket. The core on this one is 20"x9"x3.5".

depends on what you want, you can have it just pointing at the ground under the car by the gearbox (although you could I suppose melt something down there), or out of the side of the car as shown in the picture (this is how I originally had mine back in 2003), although its now just pointing at the ground.
Or I suppose you could have it travel all the way to the back and exit next to the main systems pipe (I have seen Dahlback do this on a RS2).
The supposed advantage is that when nailing the motor and the wastegate opens to divert some exhaust away from the turbine to control boost levels, the diverted exhaust gas does not have to rejoin the system as it does in the stock configuration, and there is no turbulence or added back pressure introduced at the point of entry in the downpipe.
Not sure how legal one of these would be in Oz, but if it is you might want to stick a small silencer on a seperate WG pipe, while its great for scaring the ***** out of old ladies and animals, it does draw attention to the car at a time when you don't want it, i.e. speeding :mischeif: .
Funny thing I have noticed is that of the three I have heard, mine, Dougs and Toms, they all sound slightly different.....maybe something to do with different exhaust manifolds?
Going back to advantages, I think that having say a 1.5" seperate WG pipe on say a 3" system basically gives you an extra 1.5" on your system when you need it when working the motor and creating max back pressure in the system. When the WG opens its almost like having a 4.5" system with all its benefit of getting rid of back pressure, but only when you need it. Thats just my idea though and while it makes sense to me it might be wrong

Here it is with the bumper cover on and cut out for air. I was going for stealth. Sorry about the bad picture. I have a better one but can't figure out how to transfer it from my audiword picture file. Here is the link but I don't think it will work.

Well it is loud thats for sure, personally I would put a small silencer on the pipe to sweeten out some of the rawness of the sound it makes, but then as Tom likes to remind me I am getting oldOriginally posted by elijahallens2I'm thinking of going this route with mine. Doug,Originally posted by Doug_RS2I don't think mine is too loud. I couldn't really here the difference - unless I drove along beside a wall with the window down.
of the three that I have heard yours is definately the least noisy and does not need a silencer, like I said earlier, I think they may sound different due to the manifolds we are using between the three of us, as they are all different?Mark - ModdedComment

Thanks, I might throw a small silencer in there just in case. I have no idea what the new header will do to the sound. I'm a stealth kind of guyOriginally posted by Mark HalliganDoug,
