I wish they stopped selling it a few years ago here in the UK, the best we get now is E5.

        What's E5?

Here best is 98octanes... We don't have Tesco 99 here

And in very few stations E85... But does not worth if you live far

Tesco99 is E5, just means it contains 5% ethanol. E85 is up to 80% ethanol I think

If you want more power just buy a bigger turbo

The fuel is crap in Malta, I will most likely be purchasing Sunoco 102 and mixing it with regular petrol at about 20%. Should put me at about 98 octane and cost me an extra 35 euro each fuel up unfortunately

I heard that E85 damages the stock fuel pump , even cuts the life of the 044 pump too ...some also say it hasn't unless running it full time , but the decreased lube value of E85 would surely adversely affect the pump mechanism ? Better to get a certified E85 tolerant pump/race pump ?

That would be the same thing for toluene, that is why I am going for race gas.

Do you really need race gas?

95 is good enough, if not ask in USA best is 93 I think

It is quoted as 95 but some say it is in fact as low as 92-93 RON due to it's low quality.

I only know that I filed up 87 all the times when I drive there for 4000kms

It costs me about €75/€80 to fill the S2, and so in my mind spending an extra €35 per tank does not seem worth it.

From your posts over the last year or two I didn't get the impression that every journey was a continual drag race and redlining in each gear.

A head job by JNLR or a slightly bigger turbo and re chipping by PRJ would seem like a better choice, if 0 - 60 times are critical ?

Just sayin ............ As it is so easy to get swept away by the momentum of the forum.
