    3B oil recommendations?

    I've heard it's not a good idea to use Magnatec - what's the usual recommendation? I've a '92 3B. Cheers.

I second that - 10W 60 oil is the way forward. Castrol RS comes in 4L bottles, but Millers comes in 5L bottles, so that works out better value in the end.

yup third'd Not used Millers...yet but RS seems to look after temperature and pressure very well, much better than 10-40 or similar especially over the summer months.

Millers is just as good and cheaper than castrol rs for 5l's not 4l's

Castrol RS has gone up in price in the U.K

The Mobil 1 0w-40 is too thin! They do a 15w-50 but i haven't tried that or heard anything about it being used in our engines. Anyone tried the 15w-50?

I'll check this out, IIRC it's not 0w-40 as I didn't want oil that thin either!

Or how about Silkolene Pro-S 10W-50, or Pro-R 15W-50. Comes in 5L too!

Silkolene is good oil, used to use it, then I went over to Casrol RS.

Now I'm back with Silkolene and using the Pro-R 15W-50, and I am happy with it.

Hmmm.. ta for the recommendations. Interestingly Castrol themselves recommend Magnatec 10w 40 for the S2.. any thoughts?
