    Bought One At Last!

    Hi Guys

Well its taken about a year of looking but I've finally bought the Rs2 I always dreamed of. Picked her up on Saturday, the car was actually advertised on here so I was pretty confident the vendor was genuine. Cheers Dave S you have the patience of a saint!

Seen about 6 or 7 before this one and I seemed to have gotten into a routine of seeing a polar silver example then a ragussa green one. Infact I never saw a black, red or noggy blue one! This was easily the best example I saw and was helped by the Big Red brake upgrade and full main dealer history, and the 69k on the clock. And the fact Dave had serviced it regardless of cost.

Now going to enjoy the new lease of power, had a VR6 before that always got a little headstrong higher up the revs, whereas the rs feels reassuringly poised.

Hope I'll be posting a bit more now!

Looks like you've got yourself a beauty there, let's just say I'm very jealous, I've always wanted an RS2! Enjoy!

          Max the credit cards

How true you are! Its booked in to be serviced and rectify a couple of things that came up on the Audi Report next week. I costed that in when I bought so its not too unexpected. The price of running a supercar I guess!

          Cheers

              Issues?

Here are the faults that came up in the 82 point check done by an Audi Main Dealer.

Aux Radiator Fins Corroded (not urgent, allegedly!)
Cam Cover gasket Leaking (not badly)
OSF inner driveshaft flange Leaking - Recommended do now!
              NSF inner driveshaft seeping
Bulge in OSF flexy brake hose - Recommended do now!
Front tyres have slight edge wear
              3 fault notes detected:

              00515 001
              Hall Sender -G40
              Signal to positive Sporadic

              00515 030
              Hall Sender -G40
Open circuit/short circuit to B+ sporadic

              00515 030
              Engine speed sender - G28
              No Signal

Car due for a service as well so I've been quoted £112.50 plus vat to do the Brake Hose and £270 plus vat to do the Flange Seal. Total £481.18 plus cost of service!

              Need a sit down now!

personally i'd do the hose myself or maybe find a decent local audi specialist who doesnt want to charge you £100 plus vat per hour....

this hose costs (about) £8.50 and because i was feeling lazy and flush i had my local VW/Audi specialist do it for me at an all in cost of £42.00
Someone is having your pants down as i considered that to be extravagant. I have since replaced the hoses with BF Goodrich stuff, £30.odd quid both sides all in.

                            The Mole Returns

                            Hi Chaps

It would seem that Audi Main Dealers are a licence to print money! Well, the story is the prices are from Martins Audi in Basingstoke as they have serviced the car for the last 8 or so years. As the car has been serviced by them and they know the car, I thought it would be worth maintaining the relationship. But boy do they charge!

I can't seem to locate an Audi Specialist close to me, East London, the nearest being Chelmsford which isn't so bad. Any ideas fellas? Or I should I keep the money press rolling?

Take a nice drive to Yeovil and get it serviced at Audiman's garage, Tom owns an S2 knows the cars inside out and you know your getting a good service.

Just dont let him wash the car, it might shrink
