90 20v nearly cained by a tt sport

i know i dont have a s2 but well on the a59 last night to harogate n behind a tt,anyhow came to the old audi garage roundabout and he floored it so i followed him it handles corners like its on tracks,
but he only kept about 100 yards infront of me and was catchin him,then he slowed right down.not bad for a 15year old car,but how do i get more grunt out of the 7a engine.also just changed the oil n filter tnight and after 7000miles it was black as tar and only got 3.5litres out and i think i put 4.5 in the last time infact i know i did,should i change it more.

Get a thick head gasket to lower compression and add a turbo exhaust manifold and some wiring and your boosted. Be careful though, the stock internals can only handle maybe 300hp on the 7A engine.

^-------- yep! much cheaper and easier in the long run! it's the reason i didn't go crazy on my coupe this summer. canada has a 15 year exemption rule which means after 15 years, any car (with exceptions of course) can be legally imported. if i were to go turbo, i will import an s2. it will have the built in quality that is very difficult to replicate in the aftermarket without spend huge sums of money. you also get all the other upgraded bits like suspension and brakes which are able to keep up with the power better.

basically, always cheaper to buy than to build so if you can buy it, buy it!
