    Hiya

Yeah, bandwidth - the bane of my life since my website got more popular! That's mostly due to Jasmine, she had a nice link on one of her sites to "PBMDC" which seemed to trigger a frenzy amongst her fans the world over!

My site seems to be bouncing on the limit, it's ok as I write - glad you like it Mark!

Siena, that's a hell of a car, very impressive work! As a hot rodding fanatic, it reminds me of the kind of ingenuity which made modified cars popular in the first place (better than another bodykitted Renault Clio!!!) - and yes, if it's the right linkage, I could just possibly be interested in a throttle body.

Martyn, regarding the car in my avatar - yeah, it's pretty much like the one in your pic...

Martin C, very nice looking car there - and that RS2 bumper goes a treat. But, if I can be honest, not too sure about the wheels - sorry.

I've actually had the priviledge of seeing this colour car in the flesh from when I was looking for one. Loved the colour to bits, but unfortunately the car I saw was lacking in other ways. Yours obviously isn't though

      Welcome on board

Sounds like you broke the same part of the throttle body that I did - the part that attaches the cable to the body itself. I bodged it to get it home, but still struggled, as I'd broken the accelerator pedal at the same time.

Best bet is a brakers, and no, they probably won't sell you just the part you'll need - you will prolly have to shell out for the whole 'body. Still, I paid £50 for my spare, so might not break the bank too much.

170mph (real speed) is what you'll get out of these cars, I reckon. It doesn't take much time at all to get up to over 155 on the clock, with plenty left and still pulling quite hard, if the car's been chipped.

        16mpg? I don't feel so bad now, as I only manage 22.4 :S

Welcome to the board. I give it 5 minutes before you're saving up for the next big mod!

Also, if you have all the RS2 bits already on( turbo, intercooler etc) you may well find a useful performance boost by seeing if Mihnea/Paul N can do something with the 'map on the car.

AMD might be a little optimistic about performance figures, though it certainly sounds like your car goes well...

Welcome, and without wishing to sound like a stuck record, nice looking car!
I'm a big fan of the OZ SuperTs - glad to see an S2 with a set of big ones on, looks great!
I had 16" SuperTs on both my 80Sports, which worked really well.

According to the trip computer, I average 20.9mpg, so you're not far off...

Thanks again for the latest group of compliments!

Alpesh, no need to worry 'bout the wheel comments, I am happy with them but would fit the lightweight Superleggera wheels at some stage (if we can still get the massive discount at work!!!) - it's not the look that matters really, just the function!

APNess, it's the throttle lever really, the bit that rotates the throttle shaft, not the mounting that holds the cable steady. Think I've got a few more RS2 bits left to get before serious tuning starts!

Thanks Marco - glad you like the car and my hobby!!

Thanks to you too Dan - all the comments have been gratefully received!

Really glad I joined this forum, I'm finding a top bunch of people and some new advice and insight into these machines that keep us poor!

                Nice car!

Hmm.. as the owner of a 91 3B, I wonder if you would be prepared to have a look at your drivers side auxiliary relay panel and tell me if the relays are the same and in the same positions as mine Or take a picture.

The pic of mine is in the thread about my interior light problems in the electrical section.

                Here..

                How cheeky was that?

I'll have a look at Kitten when she comes home later this week.

Go Kitty! Go! (...as Wendy on my site said to me, I quite liked that!!)

You're only down the road from me, Martin. It takes me about 40 mins to get to Suffolk from Braintree. (My brother in law lives there). You're quite welcome to see the throttle body I have, see some of my projects while I cast the proverbial beady eye over your S2.

                                Cheers again folks!

Siena I would def like to see some of your stuff! I'm intrigued. The throttle body would be worth a look for sure, is it S2? I have a 10v coupe quattro at home but the linkage is very different as the throttle is near the RH front corner instead of the centre rear of the engine.

Newsh, whaddya want dude?!! My url is in my profile

A link from my site to yours? Would be different from all those girls...

...or are you offering a link to me?!! That's a great idea! Mind you I think I need more bandwidth due to the burgeoning popularity of PBMDC!!

Interior lights ain't my biggest problem - I have a dodgy speedo which needs sorting (think I've seen something about that elsewhere), plus a bit of backlighting in the dash which needs a tap to get it going... Oh yes, and the power steering can play up a bit...

Hey Marco, if you can show me more girls, I can take more pictures!!

...actually, I have the day off tomorrow - and yes, I am photographing another pretty young thing!

                                I wish I was taking the S2, not a 75bhp Polo, on a 280 mile round trip...

Updates for my site coming in the next few weeks!

                                See ya around folks!
