Long time between the updates
, but not that much have happened. Replaced the RS2 front calipers with 996 monoblocks and 323 mm disc. Acquired the S4 (B6/B7) 300 mm rear brake upgrade, at the moment on the shelf for another day in the garage. FK Automotive coilovers fitted at the rear, the front ones not mounted due to that they need new shocks.... anyone knows what could fit (radius 44mm x 330mm (not incl the piston)?
Anyway I've driven the car for almost 2 years on a stock engine setup. So when my dodgy wastegate decided to not open at all (engine hitting boost limit and then limp-home), I went for an almost 11 hour non-stop Sunday in the garage putting back the "power stuff".
Although at the moment I´m using the stock ECU and a 0.7 bar boost. But my plan is to go all-in with what I´ve got, so that would mean an intimidating 2 bar
: Call it experimental to see if the 105 000 miles can stand it
Previously I ran the 1,6 bar RS2 chip software which is supposed to put out around 350hp. Ran that one with RS2 converted ECU and 465cc injectors, but that mixture was too rich. There seem to be a 2bar (allegedly 400hp) RS2-chip copy circulating for decent money. :mischeif:
Going down that route I would need a to find a 3.5 bar fpr, where? Any other model that uses such a device? Found Citroen Saxo on ebay that looked similar? Will the fuel pump be enough? I have also lost my RS2 air mass meter so that would also have to be acquired.
Perhaps it would just be better to give the Motronic guru - PJR a shout. But it scares me to drag him all the way to Sweden and then the car brakes down before or during the tuning!!!
Many questions and loads of rambling but comments or suggestions are welcome
/Mike

Latest updates
The car have been working hard as the daily driver for me... so I´ve been kind and giving it some goodies.
Wheels are will be "re-tired" with a set of 225/40-18 Michelin Pilot Cup. Although getting older so ONE normal straight up street tires setup would be nice (instead of two sets of racing wheels
) as well softer engine mounts... but trying to stay young??
Coilovers are modified FK Automotive refitted with Koni 8610-1436RACE which also allow for adjustment of the compression without disassembling the whole strut.
Wheel alignment on monday, then I will start to mess with the compression and perhaps mount the "2 bar alleged some 400hp chip"
Spacers for the wheels and brake pads (the tougher ones) with fluid next up on the shopping list.

Finally got everything needed to fit the wheels. 20 mm spacer up front and 10 mm rear. But except from the look of the car it also felt A LOT nicer with the 225/40 tires instead of the 235/40 sized ones, no more tramlining
Also managed to get the larger IC in place, but not completely convinced of its greatness. Car felt a somewhat "laggier" but on the other hand I think it pulled stronger on higher revs and the overall feel is a smoother rev range.
Compbrake Motorsport top mounts on its way that hopefully will get rid to the "clonk" in the ride
.
Ferodo 2500 brake pads fitted up front and I VERY pleased. Worked superbly on the track and they ALSO work for daily driving. Although the track day stints got short since the car start to high rev misfire/hesitate after 10-15 minutes, cooled it down and worked again for a short stint. I recon that the +100k miles fuel pump is getting worn (also a bit stubborn to start sometimes, 5-10 sec on the starter is needed)?
Booked time for AC repair on thursday, so now its time to attack the not as fun stuff to investigate - The self locking car
. Whenever I close or fully open the hatch it locks the car. The wiper is also not working so I suppose I have a rear hatch wire shortcut somewhere in the neighborhood of the hinges? Any hints or experiences?

I'd say you are corect re the wire being frayed at the hinge area of the tailgate. BTDT.
Obviously worth doing, once you have some solder, solder gun, , heat shrink tubing and a heat gun.
Nice van, love your join date / start date of this thread.

Did you manage to fix it without removing the tailgate?
Thanks, the car has been around for some 12 and a half years now
Runs lovely just the small and some not that small irritating issues to correct... then perhaps another 12 years
Sparky_s2: the intercooler is in centimeters: 70x27x5. Piping is loooong, from the turbo air goes around the backside of the IC, enters the lower left corner and exits from the standard upper right corner (seen from the engine side)./Mike
