want a dump valve

Isnt the idea of the re-circ dump valve to keep the compressor spinning to reduce lag?

I had WAB engine with the atmospheric dump valve on and there were no performance problems at all, everything ran as it should, I did however get rid of it as the infernal pssst noise it made did my swede in..... so gone back to standard till I can get my hands on a forge or bailey recirc....

yes thats correct, the issue with the s2 is that it measures how much air is taken into the system and by dumping the air to atmosphere it changes this value.

i have standard air box and recirc .... i have fitted recirc the other way as forge says u can... it.. at present makes a high pitch metalic "beeee" sort of sound .. but not that loud .. but more interesting than the standard shisss (quiet niose)

Can you still get the Dahlback kit? Looked on their website but couldn't see it there? Only after the 180 bend though which they probably dont sell on its own.

If all you want is that sound, then why not install one of them chav speakers under ur hood that makes that sound. Im sure ive seen em for sale..

Oh @ Jon44cc my recirc is fitted in reverse to the normal fitment of the standard recirc dv fitted on car

(can only go 2 ways) So what setup would i need for those sounds? .. or dont u know?

I dont think you can achieve the sound from that sound clip above with any dump valve. I think its a combination of boost, air filter etc...

There isnt a "best" air filter. there are many good ones. Like Itg, quickshift etc..

best for performance is the RS2 airbox. Best for sound is any open aitfilter like quickshift, but you will need a custom heatshield and a U bend type 80mm pipe.

@Nip - see my post above on considerations with cone filters - as Ski says you can't really define "best", except you need to go for one with a large internal volume, preferably a non-oiled filter, and make sure you shield it as much as you can from the infernal heat of the turbo...

I would do a search on this forum for threads about cone filters v OEM air boxes (S2 or RS2). IMHO, having experienced my S2 with a Dahlback/K&N combination and currently an RS2 airbox, I would say stick with the OEM setup.
