Great idea for us (as Tom regularly demonstrates on the drag strip), but not quite as useful for the BEAST that was my mates 1.6 Laser

Thanks for the opinions, each to their own...
The lights work fine, as the projectors are now HID (bearing in mind it started as 3B non ellipsoids) and the high beam still reflects exactly as it did before...
I am waiting for some different high beam bulbs and side light bulbs to arrive, after which I will take a photo of them switched on....

No, actually fitted in quite nicely, made up 4 little aluminium brackets, stripped both sets of lights and bolted everything back together... I could even keep the existing rear covers on, with a proper grommet.... doesn't look at all DIY from the back, but then you will never see that part...!
HID certainly makes a major difference, I would like to have seen the differences as they happened, ie 3B standard, to S2 ellipsoids, to A6 Xenon HID... I know they are very very bright now...!

Looks dynamite man. I'd do it to if I could afford the lights - my project isn't really at that stage right now... It's more like in parts on the garage floor stage. But, whole diffy story, great looking stuff... Seen it on a couple of AW cars and it loooked as good there as it does on yours.

Looks alright, but I would say that as I did the same to mine too.

I am in the phec it, do it camp too! Did mine after i saw a few done at inters and think it looks mean with a black grill

The standard look is a bit plain IMO so meaning it up is my choice and the choice of quite a few others too. If its good enough for a lot of new metal its good enough for my ride

Sorry for not posting sooner, I missed this before...!
2001 A6, so not the larger newer ones (they would not fit, especially if you want to keep the rear light covers on)
Mine were second hand units, 1 pair of complete lamps and ballasts which I butchered and fitted inside.
