I know this is a huge issue in the UK ( though I still have trouble understanding why as the pros massively outweigh the cons ) but if you all were issued with ID cards to prove and protect your identity ( which is what happens in every "rich" country ), you guys wouldn't have to hide your registrations.Have to agree with you Clive, though I must admit I completely understand the concerns about identity theft. I recently read an article that showed just how small of a detail some scammers will pick up on, and how far they can get really. It's rather scarey and makes you want to hide every detail from anyone
I just can't bring myself to deface the lovely pictures of my car though
And you wouldn't be plagued with the whole needy side of the world trying to illegally immigrate to your country as they know that once they're in, they'll stay in...Midnight Blue S2 - SOLD - 1993 S2 AvantComment

What criminals do is find a car of the same model and colour and clone your plates or steal / swap them from your car and use the vehicle in a crime. The police look up the reg and come knock on your door.
ID cards have nothing to do with it.Comment

Car cloning.... Hmmm.... I wonder how many not well intentioned guys out there want to clone an S2. They're already hard to come by in any format, let alone the same color
Wouldn't it be easier to clone a Vauxhall Astra ?

I do like the Milltek - for my taste its got the right balance of 'sportier' sound (I hate that expression but you know what I mean) without it being so loud and intrusive, especially cruising on the motorway that it gets annoying.
I need to be saving the pennies for one - I can't imagine my original zaust will last to next years MOT. It looks scabby, but still aint leaking which is testimony alone to the original items quality as its been on the car for 13 years.
@Clive - you got a tidy looking Coupe there alright. What next when the bug bites ?Paul Nugent

I agree with you totally Paul - it's simply "just right".
As for the OEM exhaust, mine also looked "scabby" after 12 years (as seen in the pic towards the top of this thread), but actually when it came off, I was pleasantly surprised that it's in such good condition (better than some of the bolts which had seized on!)
As for next mods, well the bug has already well and truly bitten
as has the addiction to this forum, it's excellent.
I am currently slowly piecing together all the bits for a 996 front brake conversion, which is desperately needed...
The next serious tuning mods will be MRC remap and springs/shocks, but they will have to wait for a while now...
In the meantime, I'm on the lookout for some Porsche/RS2 teardrop mirrors and an RS2 steering wheel (to replace the "Grandad" 4 spoke!)

@Matt_D - we did try a video take on Sunday, but after one attempt with a camera phone (which was "poor"), we then borrowed a proper video camera which was even worse!
