i was looking for an S2 in that colour at first but settled with the green, cars looking really good Dest
How did you do the handle? do you trim it right back?
I trimmed it back, but dont think I have done it far enough!
The handle was broken anyway, so was able to use this one as a test.
WHen the new one arrives, Ill have to try again!
As for the colour, its Pearl blue which I believe is a rare one Im told
take the cover off or a coil will fry in no time!!
I was toying with the idea of fitting it with some spacers so there was a gap all around the edge? Or maybe getting some cooling holes machined into it?

i thought about doing that but i think im gonna go with a 7A cam cover instead!
1995 B4 Audi 80 S2 avant 267bhp and 326lbft *sold*
Ive removed it again for now then, dont want to cook the new coils!
Do you think it would be ok if fitted with enough of a spacer so it had a gap all the way round?
Would be a nice cheap option and near enough keep the standard looks too
do the 'boots' need to be longer to do this? im gonna use a 7a cover myself.
There are no boots! The 1.8t coils are what they are, but they can be fitted with a 7a cover as I checked out recently. You'll need to remove all the rubber from the top of the coils and if you file the plastic lip right back they'll fit nice and snug!!
@ Dest, I wouldn't recommend covering the coils at all. They don't need too much of an excuse to fail in my experience!! I am currently contemplating an alternative to the 1.8t items (either back to standard or high output) as I've not been too impressed.
'93 S4 Avant now back on the road complete with new shiny go faster bits.
I'd also remove the cover for the time being at least, it just builds up too much heat in there and there is not much airflow that gets up to the top even with either high speeds or a decent gap all the way around, i've seen other peoples versions with stuff like carbon but tbh for the time being probably easy just to run without till a more long term solution comes up.
