Sounds cool, suppose in doing the 4.2l engine the liners would be one of the expensive parts. Price of the other engine is brilliant is there a good supply of them?

to re-do the nikasil I found a place that does it all day long on 928 porsche motors for around a grand US: http://www.928motorsports.com/services/uschrome.html
TONS of 3.6L motors in junkyards in the states, the auto tranny explodes and the car sits with a perfectly good motor awaiting deviants like me to take advantage :mischeif:Comment

autocrossed the car last weekend, not a good test because my tires are **** and my alignment is way off, tires are screaming for mercy at modest turn-in. I'll wait to comment on the handling until I get a complete setup on the car.
the engine itself isn't much heavier than a turbo 5 cylinder. The addition of the turbos, manifolds, intercoolers, etc has bumped the weight up over the factory setup. I'd really like to corner weight the car to verify which I'll do once the coilovers go onHow is the weight in the front now compared to the old I5 ?
Great project

Generally $500 US gets you the motor, all accessories (power steering, alternator, ac, etc), and the manifolds. Hell you can buy a whole running V8Q for $500, I just didn't want more iron in my driveway
I have no BTDT with the place I linked to, just found them in a google search and looks like they have the facility to do top notch work. I will consider that option long and hard if problems arise with this motor (knock on zebrano, scratch that, no more use of the word knock).Price is good for the liners and if its a porsche place supposidly good quality work.Comment

thanks!
The sound is very easy to get used to. I should do an in-car video. I'm going to the drag strip this friday with the car so I'll try to nab some video at that point.and u don't need to buy a new S5 anymore !!
u got nice looking car with the best sound !!!!!!!
in current trim with the boost set where its at I suspect around 330hp at the crank based on the drag trap speed and the weight of the car. Figure 10hp per lb of boost, 25 psi should put me around the 500hp regioncongrats !
How much HP u got with that beast ?? must be around 400 or more !

Very nice.recent track video from Mont Tremblant this weekend

Makes me want to get myself a CQ and drop a V8 in it.
Thanks for sharing the video.
Don't forget to mention the V8 is only 4 cylinders long, so it sits further back in the chassis than the I5.
