Rolling Road Results... that's more like it!

After my well documented last rolling road session where I wasn't exactly a happy chappy I have had it re-tested in preparation for das 'ring! Changes include a new DV, Homefries chip and about 3,500 boost leak tests to ensure that the S2 doesn't waste another session on the rollers. Results were (insert drum roll of your choice!)

    Power - 294bhp at 6k
    Torque - 310ftlbs at 3500

Here's the graphs for those that like that sort of thing

Looking good, do you still get the dip in power or is that gone now when your driving it, the graphs seem to show a nice steady curve.

Boost still fluctuates but it's running right so I'm not bothered. It might be a leaking EM or something but it seems to be the same as others' experiences and their cars are still running so I'm not too bothered. Head hasket, timing belt, hall sender and water pump are all in the to do list so a new set of EM gaskets and a visual inspection isn't going to be the end of the world to do at the same time... no idea when this will happen but power isn't on the cards so more maintenance might as well be

Power was at the flywheel calculated from run down losses, on the road power (at the wheels) was 245bhp.

I thought that a homefry was supposed to give over 400 ftibs of torque?

          What fuel were you using?

          Any other mods?

                      400lbft from a K24 - I think not !

Its about 410-430Nm on the homebrews - Andy is bang in the middle with 310lbft which equates to 420Nm. He is getting close to 300bhp cos of his exhaust and intake mods making good gains at the top of the rev range. On stock motors you can expect to see 270-280bhp depending on engine health, the weather etc

Good figures Andy - solid proof of the gains from your mods.

Andy - remind me what intake mods you have there - RS2 airbox and intercooler - anything else apart from the exhaust - with CAT(s) or not ?

What air temps did you see on that run ?

I presume it was done in 4th gear - what transmission loss was measured ?

Does this mean you can get some work done on the 90?

IIRC andy's got a modified (big *** hole in front) standard aby box and standard IC so even better as if he got the RS2 box and cooler thats more power.
