    Power - 294bhp at 6k
    Torque - 310ftlbs at 3500

So what do you put the performance gains down to, as my car had the same bumpy torque curve as yours at the last RR.

Was it curing the boost leaks, or the homefry being superior to the MRC chip, i.e is the homefry running higher boost?

      Cheers Kids.

NIP, be good to see your car on the same rollers at ADI (check out the separate thread)

Paul, standard S2 IC with a modified ABY airbox, Forge DV and Samcos for all inlet, vac and WG hoses. Run was in 3rd gear as the RR was calibrated for 3rd, transmission losses were C50bhp (245bhp ATW). I think that's reasonable. Torque is down as the car breathes more esily and still has fluctuating boost which must rob it of a few ftlbs.
AFRs are perfect, boost cureve too, Torqe is strong, power is great...

Brian, new DV, plugs, boost leak check and Homefries with the milltek, Samcos + other hoses and a lot of TLC. The MRC chip is good at the top end but not in the midrange due to 0.2 bar down on homefries. Mine's always run well but yours should run a solid 270 like Si's if it's all sorted. New plugs and S3 DV floowed by a boost leak test and a bit of work should see you with a properly runnig car to match that gleaming paintwork Feel free to invite yourself to Brissol if you want a hand.

Car feels faster after the RR session, perhaps it's the new seat, perhaps it's in my head... who gives a toss, it's great and I can't wait for it to be 100% again. Hope I can afford to keep it with the new flat and even improve upon this. Ia lways wanted 300bhp and it's now a real target (on these rollers at least ). Will be back at the smae place with everyone who's doing the RR at Combe in 2 weeks time. If the car's still in 1 piece it'll be on track too for anyone wanting to see the effects of the 24mm RARB too

So pleased ot be positive as the last two months have been a bit mixed, hopefully the ring will be the icing on the cake!

Great - an RS2 intercooler should take you to 300bhp Andy... It would have been real nice to know your air temps on that run... I know I was in the 40's celsius with power runs on the rollers. Rarely that high on the road.

If you have VAG-COM, you can monitor and log the IAT data - on the road or on the rollers.

It would be interesting to see if an RS2 airbox can do better than your modded ABY item - note to self to look up that old thread again

I'm not entirely sure why you have this boost fluctuation problem - was the WGFV changed recently ?

With this in mind, it would also be nice to know what a 7A exhaust cam would do for you and a ported head. heheheheh

Are you with or without CAT(s) on that Milltek BTW ?

Its amazing that a homefried ABY with modified airbox, some Samco hoses and a Milltek exhaust can do *that* much better than a stock motor. The intercooler is the next obvious bolt-on mod to quantify. Go-on-go-on-go-on-go-onga !

I always wanted to push 300bhp out of the K24. It was a spec I hoped would make it: RS2 intercooler and airbox, 7A ex. cam, most other parts (DV etc) renewed. I'll never know now though.

          I hope you make it!!

Cats are in place still. I'd have thought that comparing my power curve and NIPs would show that the power tails off more on mine at top revs.

RS2 IC would be nice, just got to find one and some means of paying for it! Milltek DP & SC would be nice too, as would a 7A EC and P&P head, balanced bottom end, single mass flywheel etc. etc. All on the "to do" list along with robbing a bank or winning the lottery

No VAGCom but if someone can bring it to Combe in October then I can log away cos it's going on the rollers again.

It would be good to see the effect of the 7A cam/cams on that setup. 300 is getting very realistic with the stock 24 isn't it now

How was the ABY box modified BTW? Cut more out of the front???

Wow - on a decat Andy you should definitely see more oomf at the top end... Lets flavour flood out

The only other bolt-on part we havent discussed for you is the RS2 EM - I wonder will its improvements give you real world benefits at ~300bhp levels on the K24 blower.

You would need a lot of patience (and money) to dyno all these upgrades individually... But I think you have some more stages to get thru on the K24 -

                    - RS2 IC
                    - RS2 EM
                    - DeCAT (or Sports CAT) plus Milltek DP
                    - 7A EX Cam
                    - P&P head with whatever EX cam was best
                    - SM flywheel with lightened, balanced bottom end

I don't think the 7A inlet is worth it on a K24 and I dare say you want to avoid exotic Inlet Manifolds. Still - that is a LOT of options to get thru... I'd be keen to help out and get some before/after runs on mine with similar mods. However my original K24 is creaking and due a rebuild (hence my temptation to go to small RS2 hybrid) so it might not work out for me - I deffo need to replace the upper gaskets and get new coil packs in before any more runs.... Maybe my next run should be on that setup keeping the K24 and S2 EM, IC and whack in the 7A EX cam - that would show a difference to my previous runs at 280bhp & 430Nm at PTS in Luton... But my next run will be a different dyno altogether... So I'll have to do some VAGCOM runs to help establish continuity.

Actually VAGCOM is a good enough tool for quantifying benefits from lower IAT. I can help you with the math if you like.

Jees - long post here - oops - rambling

I'd love to do all of these things and quantify any benefits but funds are tight! Will have to wait and see what happens along the way... Ultimately though, the K24 has done 157k now and is starting to reach it's limits. I think RS2 / GT3071 is the way forward but I'll need most of the other mods and a set of injectors to do that so adds another £1500 to a £1500 bill! As stated many times, see what happens. I just hope I can run the S2 and a flat or someone might be getting a bargain of an ABY Coupe!

                          very nice numbers

I'm hoping for the same numbers with my 3B after flowing the head, lightened flywheel, RS2 EM and modified AAN IM

is it possible for a 3B?

Comparison graph between standard (258bhp) and Homefried (295bhp). Only difference between the runs was the fitting of a Forge DV and I'm not sure if that's a good thing! Both runs were in 3rd although the Combe run used run-down losses to calculate flywheel power. I don't have ATW power to hand.
