Being only 4bhp off the magic 300, I would suggest going back for a run in different weather conditions as that could make all the difference!

Dyno cell was a little warm at 23 degrees. I'm going to go back when there's snow on the ground and see what happens!

He is running RS2 injectors, 3 Bar map, huge FMIC, standard AAN K24 and RS2 software with a 4" turbo back NO CAT NO MUFFLER SIDE PIPE EXHAUST. The thing goes and sounds like a bat out of HELL. However, on a recent 600 km trip to an S-car meet-up, he and I played Hare and Hounds (me in my RS2'd 93 S4). 2/3rds throught the trip, Keegan stopped at the side of the road. He was totally boiling over (so much heat from the engine and turbo). Had to limp the last 2 hrs of the trip (in the mountains). He could use more radiator too but the point is the K24 was really working over time and the extra heat was one (bad) result.
Mr Keegan is doing it all wrong - that is a great way to slay a stock K24 by asking to behave like an RS2 turbo if you say its using RS2 s/w. That is pointless and seriously shortens the life of the turbo.

The K24 turbo has inherently less lag than the RS2, but of course it doesn't have the headroom for the performance from the RS2 turbo.

I know the K24 is right on the limit of its compressor map at 300bhp - but for a lil turbo that can hit max boost over 500rpm before the RS2 on a daily-driven car then its a pretty good combo - compared to the cost of a full RS2 conversion.

I'm running a standard Homefries so I'd have thought / hoped that the delta P on the compressor map wasn't too much of an issue. The power comes from getting rid of losses in the inlet and exhaust, hence the Samcos, airbox mod, exhaust etc. I'm sure that with a decent exhaust mine would achieve better again and the same for a custom remap but that's pointless on the k24, hence sticking with a generic remap.

I completely understand that the gains without changing the map will be minimal but the point is that the car wil be ready for a turbo of my choice combined with a suitable set of injectors and finished off with a custom map. It's a fun way of doing things gradually rather than shelling out a fortune that I don't have and by sticking with the k24 the Homefries is just fine.

I love the low-lag k24 setup and around Combe it really wasn't too far off P Diddy's 360 bhp RS2 spec avant, only losing out at the end of the main straight and in fact, the reduction in lag was beneficial exiting corners. Makes me want a GT2871 more every day and go for a great road setup of 350bhp and loads of orque from just over 2k. Different so I'm sure others won't see the point of it

Any improvement in delta P is beneficial - whatever turbo is in use...

Can't find your figures before this run - with the homefried ECU on stock intercooler.

Just trying to quantify the benefit of the RS2 IC on its own here.

                  Andy,
I see the point of it for sure.
Before I messed up my old setup, my car was brilliant around town and from corner to corner. It may not have been as fast as some of the higher power cars (although 0-60 in 4.54 with 2 gear changes was not bad!), but low down and mid-range it was superb.
Admitedly, a few problems with the newer setup (leaks) did not help but these are now being sorted (along with a few more tweaks ).
Will be interesting if I will still crave for the old setup .... not long now :mischeif:
                  Cheers

RS2 IC was worth 2 bhp and 10ftlbs (peak figures). Dyno cell was hotter when the run took place. Not sure it's worth it for £300 but it's good for a future turbo options.
