My first S2 was written off 4 years ago and was insured by Elephant.

First offer I received was £4300 when typical similar models were selling at £6500-£7500. After some lengthy negotiations, I received a better offer and got the car back.

Be very wary of the small print and the terms and conditions of your policy.

Jay, sounds like you've had a pretty rough ride with that one! Hope you get it all sorted soon.

ONe thing here to remember and its very important!
You can insist on who or which company repairs your car. They will try and bullshiit you, with "they are not on our approved list, you will have to take to one of our approved repairers" NO WAY its your desition where you get the work done.
Never let the other persons insurance get the car repaired, never seen a good job done. They will corner cut to save money.

        REMEMBER! ITS YOUR DESITION!!!!!!

She would be handing 100 lines!
Then again a "line" means something quite different from when I was at school!!

Car is in at the garage this morning, hopefully going to be ready in a week, if they do the job right first time

Got a courtesy car... Golf V Gt TDi Sport 170. :mischeif: This thing shifts but it's no S2. Difficult to drive too, tries to stall if you pull away with too little revs, jerks if you try to put more gas on. Gear change is too light, clutch is as heavy as the new one in the S2. Don't get me started on drive by wire throttle pedal... 170bhp is fine but the TC light was on so much on the way home that it begs the question what's the point. Had forgotten how flawed FWD is.

On the plus side the steering is nice and weighty, it pulls well in all gears and cruises well... oh, and 45mpg on the way home. Nice.

How utterly rediculous... I've just had a letter through from the solicitors acting on behalf of me and my insurance company and this has to go to trial! I've been asked for inconvenient trial dates for the next 9 months... as I can't get to Tesco or work I doubt that I'll be fit and well enough to go to court... utterly

Nope, it's been dragging on ever since it happened... everyone involved needs shooting except me How this can go to court I don't know. All I want is for it all to be over and them pay back the Recaro Pole Position that I'm out of pocket (or £400 to most people )
