Nothing is perfect when man and machine come together ,but you do get a good
idea when said equipment is used.

I've used a G-tech RR for a while so I know it works(and how ) , but I'm curious if you can back up what you are posting: "Be realistic, a Gtech is never going to be perfect or very accurate" , or if you're just asuming/have read/............

Read my post again, I never said they were totally useless, just not 100% accurate

Dest, If you are serious about your claims, back it up with information, if not please stay away from putting your personnal opinions here. There are a number of shortcomings with the Gtech yes, but what? The idea here is to share knowledge, now please do.

              Chill out FFS!!

I will type it again in plain english.

A Gtech is ok but will never be 100% accurate.
Therefore, take any figures with a pinch of salt.

If they were 100% accurate, why do magazines etc spend thousands on Datron or similar equipment?

I really cant put it any simpler than that?!

God you lot on here are bloody highly strung sometimes!

THose figures look great to me - even if they are .5 sec out.
Well done Mr Jones. Be good to see her in the flesh and on the move.

Your right nothing is perfect and the Gtech is no different. Out of interest i also have a 5L GT40 and a 7.5L Cobra (i don't mention them here as this is not the right forum) both have been to MIRA and the Gtech is as close as mentioned above when taking calibration runs, so long as you input the correct weight.

My neighbour has a weighbridge, i measure them on that prior to taking the readings so I'm personally pretty impressed with the accuracy from the Gtech as MIRA are not known for there inaccuracy's.

Without sounding rude or highly strung if you have a better way of measuring the engine performance i would welcome your knowledge and would be happy to pay for accurate results.

                          Thanks, the spec is:

AAN block, pouter rods with decked pistons taking the cr to 8.5. Lightened flywheel and front pulley.

The head is ported and polished and I'm using the 7a ex cam. Orange injectors with an 034 inlet manifold.

The turbo is from turbo dynamics it is a hybrid GT30 which is the secret weapon on this car.. never been more impressed with a turbo. Its mounted to an RS2 ex manifold. The exhaust is 3" turbo back (home made)

It utilises two intercoolers with water injection on the exit of the last intercooler. all of the inlet tract is 3" with the MAF mounted on the positive side of the turbo.

I was never really interested in building a high horsepower car though the spec of the engine will take it i wanted to build it for high torque with a wide window of power as it is a road car. I certainly achieved that.. it will break traction in 1st 2nd and 3rd when the boost comes on and you can easily achieve progressive power slides.

I have driven variants with high horse power engines and although ultimately quicker than mine they would still be trying to catch me at 80-90mph at which speed you have proved your point.

As you can imagine, not everyone has a weighbridge next door, so people are using factory spec figures quite alot, and therefore getting inaccurate results etc.
Once again, I never said they were crap....

In answer to your original statement, I think we are looking at an accuracy of 95 - 98%, which in my book is good enough for pubs and forums.....
