    S2 INsurance write-off

I have a dealimea, My S2 Avant has be written as the repair cost is £3,300 and its is valued at £2,800.

Is it worth buying back, I expect I can repair it for a fraction of the repair quote, with 2nd hand parts.

Or is anyone interested in it as a whole as parts. has a bent wishbone and is not drivable. I may buy it back and break it for the engine as it is resonably ok but I just don't really have the time to break it.

Take a look at the pictures what do people think?

It has done 185K so it is no spring chicken.

See if they will sell it back. They don't like to these days.
Then contact Sal and see if he can supply the parts you need / buy it off you.

It does not look like a massive repair with second hand parts. (Unless there is some other damage underneath that we cannot see). I assume the engine and gearbox have not moved etc??

If I were you. I would buy it back and sort it out with second hand parts. Assuming you like the pre accident condition of the car.

      Cheers,

      Steve.

Its already HIS car, he doesn't have to settle without the car. Just ask for the difference between their offer on the cars value and the scrap value. Also don't forget, you can negotiate the value of your car with them BEFORE telling them you are going to keep it!

        Cheers,

        Steve.

arfter the accident reverse gear is slightly harder to get, so maybe some movement linkage damage, The chassis leg looked ok to me. It is a pretty tidy car but not 100% perfect laquer peal etc on bonnet.

I have spare wheels already, needs wing, bumper suspension parts and washer bottle/horn mount.

The main issue is I was planning to sell it as I need a diesel now so, interest is reduced slightly in rebuilding it. I can easily do it.

Whos the best person to ask with regard to 2nd handparts for a quote for a "pack of parts"

I think it is good enough to save really.

I need the estate car benefits, but I really need a A6, I may get an old S4 as a replacement.

Just went to the garage that did the repair quote £2k of parts £412 for bumper £250 for wheel etc, £566 labour.

Depends on the figures the insurance co offers but I think I may buy it back however I will need to arrange transportation.
