    Its dead :(

I know its not an Audi but I'm sure none of you wanted to see it go out like this:

Was coming off the M60 at the Trafford Centre/Chill Factore exit - its a slip road straight down to a trafficlit lsland - lights were red so there was stationary traffic. I stopped but the guy behind me didn't He ploughed into me and punted me into the van infront.

yeah its all on his insurance which is nice... think the next car will be another subaru to be honest. I'm awful tempted by an S2 but honestly dont think I could afford the necessary cash to treat it right.

As for the remains of the subaru - the chassis is wrecked and I've already rescued my ICE. The only other bit worth salvaging is the wheels and I'll see what the insurance value it as with or without them and then decide.

What about engine and running gear? Surely that must be worth a bit?

well it still started last time I tried it but it didnt sound healthy so i don't know what shape the engine is in. If I broke the car then the peices would probably fetch a bit but I dont really have the spare time or space. Depends how much the buy back is I guess.

Sad to see, I quite like a scoobie, they make a great sound.

Nasty noises could be just the exhaust broken or banging on the floor.

Do scoobys have a rigid prop shaft, a mate was racing his a few years ago with a VR6-he only had the car a week. He rear ended a Peugeot, with a granny and her grand daughter in it, then the VR6 rear ended him. He was lucky in that the whole claim went to the VR6, but the scooby was shortened by about 3 foot but the main mechanical damage was the prop was shoved through the gearbox.

                    Andy,

Sorry to see this mate you must be gutted! You're luck with cars seems to be in the same league as mine :-(

Hope you can sort it with the insurance quickly, perhaps the sierra could become your next daily driver.. :-D

Don't let the insurance co take you to the cleaners - get the value of the car, not a penny less!

It's been quite a 'mare tbh. I'd just spent a small fortune on the car getting it exactly as I wanted it. I can see the valuation being something of a fight - prices of classics are all over the shop right now.

I have thought about putting the sierra back on the road to give me more time to work out what I am doing with the next car but still undecided tbh
