      Another avant !

Well what else do you do when you get offered a cheap S2, buy it of course.

Explaining to your wife why you've bought another S2 when you already own a perfectly good one is not so easy!

Blue avant is the "new" addition to the fleet. 2 avants and a ur quattro hiding in the garage. I think I need help.

For the last 8 years the blue car has been owned by a friend. It had done 75k when he got it and it's done 125k now. Maintained by the local specialist always using genuine parts, I've just totalled up the bills and it came to £10,031 for the last 8 years. Gives you an idea of how expensive these cars are to maintain if you don't own a spanner. Car is as it left the factory apart from Koni suspension.

It needs a new front bumper after losing out in an argument with a bank of snow a few months ago. Sourced one from the forum so I'll get it fitted soon. Paintwork needs a bit of TLC, don't think the car has been polished for the last 8 years and probably only got washed when it rained!

Not sure what I'll do with it in the long term. Spares car? Perhaps "lighten" it and use it for track days. Might just tidy it up and move it on and use the proceeds for some go faster bits for my other avant. I intend using it for a few weeks while I make up my mind. At the same time I'm going to take my green avant off the road for a few weeks and do a few jobs I've been putting off

              Hi Fred!

I have 18" Avus now, too, and would like to use 235/40 tires.
But i'm wondering which spacers to use. What mm are you using?

At the moment, i run 225/50 on 16" Avus. At the rear there are only a few mm between the tire and the suspension arm. With the ET difference of 48-37=11mm and the difference between the tires 235/225 of 5mm this would be 16mm spacers..

I don't get how 10mm spacers that some people are using could work at the rear
