lol..in this case neither were!
The "RS2" hybrid thing was bought directly from Grant and the genuine refurbed RS2 was from a forum member, used since refurb, also done by AET.

OK!
As suspected the one without the correct comp cover has no RS2 bits. Turbines seem to go in 2mm increments. So that turbine I would say is from an early 200. Don't forget that the turbine housing/wheel/shaft are effectively matched. However that is the fabled small RS2 hybrid sized turbine. I'll have to check, but as the major diameter is smaller thamn the RS2 one, I would say its a K26 wheel, possibly a Porsche 250bhp 944T. You would need to try and measure the smaller diameter to say more accurately! I believe that you have to use all the relevant compressor side RS2 bits in a true RS2 hybrid as they are different, particularly the comp wheel which is shown on the "naked" thread.
The nice shiney one is I would say a genuine RS2 from the measurements given . Again a measurement from the smaller diameter of the wheel would be necessary for comfirmation. I'll check against a RS2 comp wheel shortly for you.Comment

Right, heres the complicated bit!
For some reason the comp wheels are expressed in imperial sizes and the designation such as 2672 for the RS2 comp wheel breaks down as 26 = 2.6 inches and the 72 is the % of the 2.6 figure. So an RS2 wheel has a major diameter of 2.6 inched (@66mm) and a minor of 1.87 inches (@47.5mm).Comment

Without kowing the exact spec of the hybrid its difficult to speculate. However if you take into account the size of the turbine is going to be a limiting factor and that tuners based their small RS2 hybrid around that, then it is only going to be suitable for around the stock RS2 figures. I guess it was an attempt to go halfway between the stock K24 and the genuine RS2 using more readily available (cheaper) components than the more exotic ones used on the RS and deal with what was perceived as lag!
If you want RS2 like performance then use the RS2 one which at least has a little headroom for improvement.Comment

As I said to you privately Costash - the only application of that turbo (or bits of it) was on a Lancia Integrale application, but I don't have any clue on the sizes of wheels inside it. You would have to take it apart somewhat to learn more, but if SMS chose it then its gonna be OK... Not as much headroom as RS2 in the high end but probably a halfway hybrid between its lil K24 brother.Paul Nugent

Impossible to say until the internals are known... Try the Lancia forums - somebody might have stripped one and documented it.
Or some place like AET might have the factory data - if indeed that turbo came straight as Lancia spec thru SMS and onto your car. The internals could be different.
HAve you tried contacting SMS yet - its a long shot, but being German based I bet they keep records that far back of specifications etcPaul Nugent

I email them but so far no answers. I try to find something in german forums about my turbo and they said is an k26 , and this is all I find yet.In my opinion if with k24 with ecu tuning you gain 50 hp then with k26 I can go close to 350 but with rs2 injectors and upgraded fuel pump.

And make sure it's a real one.
