Did that include a flexi piece and how many silencers was that for?

dunno and dunno! Its gonna be a late night tonight. ****.

my 3" catback was 350 quid!! LMAO. He said for an extra 800 I would get the full downpipe with TWIN HIGHFLOW CATS!!

They did a system for my dads Volvo 850R last year: 2.75", completely reconfigured reduced loads of backpressure with a high flow cat for 850 quid. It was a huge improvement to his performance.

I'll talk to you about exhausts when we meet up week monday. :-)

Mark, is your exhaust rigidly mounted all the way along or has it been modified now. Did you decide you need a silencer on the WG pipe? have you got a pic from underneath where it goes upto the top where the WG is? and would you do it again? trying to work out wether its worth going for or not?

You dont want a silencer on the WG pipe, also you need to get prism to sort that zorst out!! Cant beleive that messed up so badly. Exhaust making is not exactly easy, trust me on that one!!

BTW the avant exhaust system is loads easier to make. It doesnt go over the axle like the Coupe.

                    Greg,

Yes it is rigid all the way along and is mounted on the hanger that used to be used for the CATs, this is very important.
I think that most of your probs are caused by the first box in your system, I think I remember you telling me that is where the CATs used to be, you'd probably do better having someone delete that and making it a two box system anyway.
I don't have a pic looking up at the WG pipe, but it is very tight in there with the 3" DP and there is no room for a silencer at that location.
Although I don't think that a WG pipe silencer would need to very large, just big enough to take some of the edge off of the sound and 'sweeten' it a little.
LOL, I just remembered that you were out with me on the last mapping session, so you know what it sounds like .

                    Mark.

3" plus WG pipe is a nightmare, I had hell of a job trying to get both pipes in there!

Had my car at prism again today, been a bit of a ball ache getting it all sorted and had to miss a lecture this a noon to go get it because was ment to be picking it up in morning but when i arrived said it would have to be before 5.30pm or come on monday.

Gave them a written letter of the faults that I have noticed on it, the guy there this morning was being fairly aggressive first thing this morning and was on about engineers reports for me to sign to say the work was satisfactory and all this stuff.

Got back this eve and totally different bloke, alot more relaxed. and was trying to sell me carbon fibre bonnets for scoobys :S

anyway they have taken the first box out completly now and welded a straight section in and moved the whole system back a few mm to help stop the vibrations and re made the hangers for the rear box so the rubbers dont detach themselves.

However the downpipe still needs sorting I think so will take it else where to have that done if this fix works fine. Just glad to have the car back working almost right now. need to sort out some dates with mihnea next

What is wrong with the DP?

Did you get a flexible part put in?

I can't beleive you are having this much trouble from a "specialist". My Marco DP and my bodge between that and my standard exhaust - 1m of 3" to 2.5" is holding up fine = and it is a real bodge!

well I went to PTS to get a second opinion a couple of weeks back and noticed that the marco downpipe touched a bit of the gearbox so want to mod it so it doesnt. and possible put WG pipe in too and have flexible pipe put in, mark h's doesnt have flexi pipe and has been fine so will give it a while and see how it is now

the point of having a flexi pipe is , when you hit the exhaust off something - you are not putting th efull shock through the turbo and EM - I will be getting one fitted - just for safety.
