I thought it was time to post up my s2 story so far. It started in about 2005 when i bought my S2 to run as a daily while i had my UR quattro. However there was something about the S2 that i really liked. The mods and tunability of the S2 were just what i was after. The first modification goes against what you should do but i was impatient and i went to Doug and Mihnea at MRC to get a remap. The remap completely transformed the car and ill never forget the drive home after the first remap
This gave me the bug, so now it was time to get some brakes on there. blu_s2 from this forum was selling a complete Hi-Spec Monster 4 brake kit for a good price so that was my next purchase and i put them on along with some nice B5 S4 wheels and an RS2 grill was also fitted:

Now the brakes were sorted it was time to get the exhaust upgraded. The cats had broken up inside and lodge into the exhaust pipe stopping the car from breathing properly so i organised a group buy with longlife in Carshalton. 5 cars had custom exhausts made over 2 days to there s2's. I went for a 3'' cat back system with cat bypass pipes and twin oval pipes, heres a pic:

Now it was time to move onto a more modern audi. So the Quattro was sold and the S2 was sold to jonnyk of the forum. I bought a B5 S4 which was a great car and had a nice 345hp. Then i experimented with a 8L S3 which was ok but out of all the cars i had owned i had always missed the S2. So i contacted Jonny and bought it back at the beginning of the year
So now it was time for the restoration and mods to really begin. First of all i bought a RS2 turbo, manifold, intercooler and crossmember, closely followed by some injectors all from the forum. They were all fitted by aelred from the forum who travelled all the way from swindon to kent to carry out the work and to check it over
These were all fitted and the ECU had a 3 bar map sensor and Paul N's RS2 Chips
despite not boosting to full potential (going to investigate why) the car is quick! Probably in line with my S4 but im sure there is more to come from that rs2 turbo.
Next it was time to sort this steering out. Konis, from aelred were next. These were fitted at QST with H&R Springs and a 4 wheel alignment. This helped the steering and feel a bit but it was still slack and felt disconnected. So after many stupid questions on the forum and many annoying pms to various people on the forum i set about buying the 034 track density tranny, diff and engine mounts along with powerflex wishbones bushes and diff bushes. After a pm conversation with anton on here, he offered to fit the whole lot
I cant believe how helpful some people on this forum are
I now have the car back and once the 4 wheel alignment is done the car is going to be transformed. The steering feel is 1000% better and the car feels tight and rigid
Next is a set of a alloy subframe bushes, a new set of BBS wheels to go on, again bought from the forum and to sort out this electrical problem and to unleash the full potential of the turbo
A big thank you has to go to this forum. Its the best enthusiasts forum out there im positive of that. To name but a few members:
Newsh for all the annoying texts and visits to your house with all the silly problems
Aelred for coming down and fitting the RS2 bits and popping by on his way home from abroad to check it over
Anton for taking up all his free time over the last 2 weeks and fitting all new bushes and transforming the car
Paul N for his help with the chips and Rusty for all his advice on the bushes
There are many others i have badgered over the last few years and i probably will in the future but thanks for all your help.
Heres some of the latest pics there not very good and the car is dirty, new pics should be up on Saturday
