The new TTRSs where all doing 0\60 in the low to mid 3 seconds beating all but
the dedicated drag cars ,i think the DSG box made all the differance

Sunday was a great day, as Andy said the TTRS was super quick for a mapped car. 3.55 to 60!!!!!!! Didn't take many pictures but got a few of CliveH's motors. The S4 move well for a big motor.

      Is this you Si??

Clive racing his own cars, there both his if you didn't know.

      Clives dag dag.

This is the TTRS that was doing 0-60 in 3:55,it left the RS6 for dead.

There was quite a few R32 turbos.

just a few to have a look at for ya!

I was up against the blue R32 in my S4. I beat him on the quarter although his times were slightly quicker than mine. He was a bit slow off the line

I was spotted by one of my mates who was down there for the weekend,he was in the que for the strip. I went over to him and he said jump in, so I did. He's running a Vento Vr6 with a charger stripped out,LSD,roll cage and two sparco seats. As I was strapping myself in talking to him he leans round the seat and starts fiddling, I turn round to see his huge bottle of NOS!!!!!!!!! His car is running 300bhp without the NOS, I asked what jet he was running he said nice and calm 100bhp jets. Thats 400bhp through the front wheels then he says it might grip with you in as well. it sturggled for grip having to feather the throttle in 1st and 2nd the NOS Switched on in 3rd and it spun then again. His best time was a 13.93. Not bad for a FWD.

Yup, that was me racing P.Diddy in the V8 barge

Gotta say the new Southbend clutch took the abuse of side stepping at 5,500rpm really well, but with a boost leak and the revs cutting out at 6,300rpm it was impossible to get decent times

I have to say my car looks quite shiney from that distance , or did you add a rose tinted filter to your camera?

              Cheers n

I guess it shows the advantage 4WD off the line then as I managed to just beat that time with a sick car and that much power in an S2 should be running low 12's (I think P.Diddy ran low 12's with 380 ish BHP last year).

I suspect I had a better start and he would have had a higher exit speed once he had finally laid all that power down. I had race with a high powered Golf which I beat by about 25 meters but I probably made 30+ meters on him at the start and he was starting to close on me at the end.

Gotta say, 400 horses and FWD sounds fairly mental

                Cheers n

400bhp through the front wheels is mental but if you knew him, you know why. He built the engine and was going to put it in his Mk2 golf syncro. He sold it a few weeks ago and said he wishes he hadn't. We was doing about 100-110mph when we crossed the line, he was running slicks but they didn't do to well on the run way. Any car that can do a 1/4 mile in less than 14 is a quick car really. The Vento is a light car compared to a S2 plus it was stripped out.......He smashed a couple of cv joints on Saturday, but he had a couple of shafts with him that had joints on them so he replaced them saturday night.

Took my S2 Avant up the strip a couple of times on the Saturday. First time I've done this type of thing so I'm not best happy with the best times of 0-60 in 5.89 seconds and 14.289 seconds for the quarter. Isn't that slower than a standard S2? With somewhere around 350 hp I hoped to be into the 13s.

The wife recorded it on my camera so I'll try to post it up onto Utube later.

                          Cheers

nice friendly chap, good to meet you.

                            Sean.
Greetings, nice to meet you - I seem to remember I was enjoying Stu & Stef's famous Cornish clotted cream scones whilst the turbo cooled when you wandered past. You should have introduced yourself as there was a mini forum meeting going on just behind us.

Never got the boost leak sorted - still 0.5 bar down, so only managed 5.3 0-60 and 13.5 for the 1/4 mile Sods law that it developed the leak about 10 miles from the track

I am using the stage 4 Southbend. I ordered a stage 3 which is the highest spec with stock pedal pressure, but they were out of stock and my gearbox was waiting to go back in so I had to take the stage 4.

The pedal pressure is higher so my wife doesn't like it for longer journeys and I can feel it in longer traffic jams but the performance is fabulous and it will take far more abuse than my engine will ever be able to dish out. Side step the clutch at 6,000rpm and it just bites

I would certainly recommend a Southbend and I would buy one again - from Marc (EFIexpress on here). Either stage 3 if staying at modded RS2 spec (say sub 400bhp) or stage 4 for the same or higher power if you want to do more drag strip launches but Marc is a great chap and very helpful so give him a call and he will advise on the best setup for you.

                            Cheers n

I shall bear the southbend in mind when the clutch needs doing on mine. Do you have single mass flywheel or stuck with dual mass?
