My S2 avant

have been a member for a wile now but as i work away alot i dont really get time to come on here much,

I got my S2 avant about 8 months ago and semce i have had it i have had a few problems but i am winning!

here is a pic of it when i first got it



after a few months of hard work and a few £££££££ here is what she looks like now!



so far what i have done;

Full carbon kit (got rid of the wood panneling inside)
Defi boost gauge
Koni lowering springs and uprated shocks
Braided brake lines with 5.1 fluid
18" bbs wheels
300mm floating disks with 4 pot calipers
Tube mainfold
GT3071R turbo
444cc injectors
1.9 bar spring
034 chip and MAP sensor
bosch 044 fuel pump

Was the turbo bought as a kit from 034 ,what's it producing about 380 bhp

no i did not get it as a kit,

just got all the parts together and made it all up myself

dont know what power it is as of yet as off the road for new powersteering rack and selector plate is worn in the gear box

Good evning

First of all will say sorry for not being on here much but i have been working away and the only spear time i have had i have been working on my S2.

As i have said from the start i have been having a uphill struggle with the car and that has not changed one bit! After getting it running ect to how i wanted it i ran into a load more problems,
All was good so TAX'ed and MOT'd her, first night out showed a focus RS how a car should go and when i stopped at the roundabout all i could see was plooms and plooms of SMOKE! as you can well agree i was not best pleased but hay one of them things,
Well got the hump and put her up for sale, well after a loads of stupid emails and stupid offers i decided to keek her,

Engine come out and was stripped down, shattered top ring, very very worn bores, very worn big and main end bearings,
so i decided sod it, do the works to it, so here is a little list of what is happening at the mo!

RS2 crank, fully ballenced, micro pollished, knife edged,
JE forged pistons (8.5/1 cr)
Carrillo steel conrods
ACL bearings
ARP main end stud and nut kit
ARP big end bolt kit
ARP head stud and nut kit
Modded sump
RS2 MLS head gasket
A7 cams
Vernier pullys
Tubula top mount mainfold
KKK K27 turbo (Burny special spec)
Tial 44mm waistgate
740cc injectors
Omex 710 ecu
lamborghini murcielago 8 pot caliper upgrade with 356mm disks
and a color coaded halfords roof box!

Was it 186k mileage when it blew ?

What's the Omex engine mgt you're going to to use like ?

Do you have a link for the koni springs you used ? Regular non coilover koni shocks ?

What are A7 cams ?

Do you have any photos of your brakes ?

7a cams I bet. Expect no bottom end torque and extra lag, with a bit of extra pull at the top end. Best bet use the 7a cam only.

Look forward to seeing this one come together, what's the turbo spec / expectations?

Yes Newsh I did

My experience is, both cams = dead low end and laggy, although it's a rush when the power somes in at about ~3600rpm or so.

My 3B with a 7A exhaust cam, even on a K24 pulled strong up top compared to my ABY at least, with no noticeable loss to me on the lower end.

I'm hoping to fit RS2 cams on mine but I'll go RS2/7A ex if I can't find rs2 exhaust in the next couple of months...
