I've been enjoying the Quattros a lot over the Christmas and New Year break. Put over 300 miles on them in a very 'selfish' 'I'm going out alone for a drive' kimd of way....

More hooning around Derbyshire to get the car run in, got up early this time to avoid the traffic only to find it was -6°C and seriously slippy
Got better as the sun came up and melted the black ice.

Beautiful part of the world. But lethal on the north side which doesn't get the sunshine
Many many years ago I was just starting walking up Mam Tor from the public car park on the south side. As I got to the highest point of the tarmac road before you turn and climb the path to Mam Tor, an RS2 was driving north up the last few meters of road before it crests and drops down to Barber Booth / Edale. It managed to get over the crest with all four wheels spinning - clearly very icy!
As I climbed up the side of Mam Tor, the road on the north side of Mam Tor down into Edale came into view. I spotted the Audi had gone off the road, nose first, through that wooden fence at the first left hander!
