    RS2 from Spain

    Hi folks,

I've visiting this site regularly from couple of years now. I live in Spain and one of my favorite cars since I was a kid is the S2/RS2. Finally, one year ago, my dream came true and I got a 94 RS2 in my garage.
First owner lived in Madrid and sold it in 2003. It moved to Oviedo where had 2 owners and finally dropped in my hands in mid 2010.
It was in good condition but obviously after 16 years and 3 owners had many things to arrange, change or restore.
Below will post some picture to show how it was when I got it and how is now.
    Hope you like it

Very nice. I am surprised to see a non-air bag steering wheel but I guess the early cars (94) the airbag steering wheel must have been an option. Check your PM, I have a request for you.

That isn't an original RS2 steering wheel. It should have the fake plastic bolt pattern in the horn-piece.

I think you could get early none air bag steering wheels on an RS2 IIRC .

Yes. That's right, that's not RS2 steering wheel. Actually it has airbag but the normal big square airbag steering wheel.
The former owner didn't like it and replaced it by this one.
I've been trying to find the original sport steering wheel whith airbag (the one with black rings and RS2 badge) but they're normally in germany and sellers don't let me even place a bid.
What I could find and is currently installed is the original 3 original RS2 non airbag with grey alcantara.
I will post some pictures of current state tomorrow.

                  Muy buenas Carbo.
Don't loose the option for remap the car. PRJ is a good worker and a better person.

For the steering wheel, find a A4 B5 Sport's one or a S4 ones. Later only 2 holes and put your ring. And only if yours is a first ring, not the newest rectangle ring.

                    Hi again,

This is current state of the car including original RS2 steering wheel.
Works done to reach this point are:
                    - zimmermann drilled rotors and new pads
                    - restored calipers
                    - new main radiator (old one had a leak) and water pump
                    - recently new turbo and exhaust manifold.
                    - and many, many, many hours cleaning and fixing small things and details.

Thanks for your offer. I'll think about it.
Let me ask you a question...
Here in Barcelona area there are 4-5 RS2 and all of them have installed Ultimot chips and they encouraged me to do it as well.
After installing them I noticed the car didn't accelerate as before. Result: broken turbo
Turbo had 170.000km so I guess increase in pressure bosst has affected it.

What do you think? What's your opinion (and the rest of forum membres) about ultimot?

                      Thanks

Ultimot just stole a chipset from Tom Schmalz (http://www.ts-tuning.net/).
That chipset has too high boost for a stock RS2, no boost or fuel cut and numbed knock detection.
Tom Schmalz has said himself, that this chipset is not really suitable for a stock RS2.
So this is what I can tell you about the so called "Ultimot chipset".

My offer would be a live remap only. I don't sell pre-made chips for anything over 300bhp on this ECU.

take his advise on this carbonRS2. There is nothing better than a tailored live tuning session. I would only choose respectable companies for a chipset alone, such as mtm, dahlback, MRCtuning etc. If you have the option of a live map, go for it 1000%

very nice RS2 by the way....

when was the last time you changed the top mounts? seems to be sitting flightly lower at the front!

About top mounts, I'm not sure what part is that.
When I got the car it did a tic-tic noise when turning direction at low speed.
It was repaired at local Audi dealer and changed bearings on top of front suspension. Is that what you're asking for?
I know the name in spanish but not in english.
